On article Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 S field review (399 comments in total)

Have to say that I have found the 14-24 Z perfectly sharp across the frame at full aperture - comfortably better than the 14-24 F mount and 14-30 Z mount in every respect. The NiSi filter holder for the 14-24 is nicely compact too.

Very impressive, atmospheric and beautiful. Makes you feel cold just viewing it. Impressive results from the Mavic Mini2 Drone - have bought one myself last week - so now know what to aim for (have a lot to learn).

astirusty: Not seeing it. Lens does not showcase why "Z".

Nikon F mount 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR coupled to Z7ii using FTZ.
Longer reach, better F-stops.

the 28-300 is nowhere near as sharp, bigger, heavier, worse VR, massive focus breathing at the long end but apart from that is great as an all around zoom.

Love this lens - by far the best superzoom I've used, excellent stabilisation especially with the Z6/Z7 and results as good as the 24-70mmf/4 within that range.

Interesting article and lens. Still use the Nikon 500mm f/8 which is much easier to use on the Z6/7 as the electronic viewfinder and focus peaking combined with IBIS make it much easier than on a dslr. Used to own the Vivitar 450mm f/4.5 series one which was an excellent lens too.

On article Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II coming October 14 (926 comments in total)

Very interested to see the specs for these - love both the Z6 and Z7 with their excellent image quality, fantastic z-mount lenses, great stabilisation, viewfinder, exposure, colour and focussing system. For me a vertical grip with controls would be good and D500/D5 focussing speed on fast moving subjects would be worthwhile upgrades - 2 card slots irrelevant for me.

astirusty: $2399.95 and $2099.95, neither has Aperture ring, neither has IS.
Seems overpriced compared to Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens at $2,299.95.

Z 24-70 f/2.8 S does not have IS (VR)- only the 24-200 and 70-200 from the current full frame range have VR built in which works in tandem with IBIS. The 16-50/50-250 DX lenses have VR built in.

Nikon F100 - affordable, available, will focus with Af-D AF-I and AF-S lenses.

yes it does

It’s definitely a Leica Camera using some Panasonic technology.

Nikon Z mount option please!

These look to be impressive lenses with the 15-35 and 24-70 perfectly matching the R body. The 70-200 is impressively small and overly Canon have done a great job on populating the R-mount line so quickly and with interesting lenses. As a Nikon user I am very happy with the 24-70 f/2.8S, 50f1.8S and 14-30 F/4 S but really looking forward to a telezoom (soon please Nikon).

fPrime: They make this, they make the Q... Panasonic ought to just buy Leica already.

They don't make the Q - been to the factory and seen the Q being made...

Hard to understand why they didn't include IBIS - Ok some of the new lenses have IS but not the 28-70f2 or 50f1.2. Only 3FPS continuous rate with AF, SD card slot only, crippled video? Looks like a case of not wanting this to affect their DSLR sales but doesn't stack up to well against Sony and Nikon Z on the face of it!

sloooow lens and ugly - would rather have an X100f or X-E3 + 23mm for less money!
Sure the dual-pixel AF is nice though.

All sounds reasonable - for me IBIS to Olympus standard would be a great addition especially syncing with VR lenses.

Really this is not huge! My Oly 70-300 II zoomed to 250mm reaches the 'huge' length of 163mm and at 79mm diameter its only about 5mm larger. For me this looks to be a great addition to lens options for M43 - nice 2.8 aperture, fast focussing, great range, weather sealed and a perfect match for the excellent 12-40.

On article Photokina 2012: Interview - Dirk Jasper of Nikon (216 comments in total)

Very interesting interview. Seems to me that maybe have a D300s successor in waiting - maybe D800 focussing and metering, 24mp APS-C chip and high frame rate all on the cards. D600 at £1614 (Amazon Uk price) seems very reasonable for what you are getting - better performance that the D3X in most if not all areas but well under half the price. Sure this will be a very popular addition from Nikon.

In reply to:

Abbas Rafey: If you refer to the interview you can clearly spot that this camera is not having features for good videography like the canon one. I am canon shooter but I wish canon concentrate on photography not vediography like what Nikon did.

What are the clearly spot features that Canon has that nikon does not?
