I'd forgotten about that. Or in French "il tombe des cordes" or indeed " .. des hallebardes" (respectively ropes and halbards (a medieval weapon that is a cross between an axe and a spear)).

This morning Swallow dive? Or belly flop? I think he was grabbing a drink. While I was waiting for the swallows to arrive Lea Massari, lit by the early morning Sun from behind and to the left Bot ...

That will be enough to quieten the nay-sayers!

It was quite a common expression in the East Midlands where we lived for a few years in the late 70s to early 80s. I suppose modern houses don't have stair rods ... I think the last house my ...

I agree that the a6600 and 70-350G are a great pairing, but their suitability for Raanani's wildlife depend on the size of the target and expected shooting distance. Cheers Mike M

For examples of what you get with the Sony 200-600 G and a6600, look at Zackiedawg's BIF shots! If I could afford the lens, and if my garden were bigger, I'ld buy one. Cheers Mike M

My admiration for your "raindrops" has provoked the NW Italian weather. It's been coming down stair rods much of the day. Cheers MM

Nice set! I especially like the raindrops you have caught on the petals of the first frame. Did you use flash to get the light to fall off in the background, or was that achieved in post? Anyway ...

Tried shooting the swallows today at 1/2500 instead of 1/4000. Turns out I caught a swallow with two beaks! Think it must have been turning its head as it dived

If I had to guess - never having had any other E-Mount body than the a6600 - it would be a question of Release Priority. On the Holmesian principle that once you have eliminated everything else, ...

While we crop-shooters can't buy new cameras, or even lust after them, we have to have something to theorise about, :-D Unless we have real lives to live, that is

I think it does - I bought PhotoLab (or whatever it was called at the time) years ago before either PureRAW or indeed Deep Prime were launched. My feeling that Pure Raw does include Deep Prime ...

Hi, it seems from this forum that the sensor in my a6600 is the same as that in your a6300. As others have said, Topaz Denoise AI and DxO PhotoLab 5 are good at reducing noise. But it's the Deep ...

Yes, for surfers, I suppose the ideal focal length depends on how far out they are. I've seen plenty of bodies on boards, but never the real action. Closest I ever got was being unable to find ...

Completely agree! Ideal lens for many many darkish indoor shots! Even if I would fight for other people's right to vlog, I do not now, nor have I ever ... Cheer Mike M

The one lens I took to Sicily and either didn't use (or used at most once - I haven't got time to rummage back through the EXIF on hundreds of shots ATM) was the 135GM, :LMAO Batis 85 should be ...

In my A-mount days, I had a decent selection of zooms. They were heavy. And the fastest was the Sony 16-50 SSM/2.8. When I made the move to E-Mount, I decided to try to use lighter and faster ...

I'll have a look at the price for the 11mm/1.4 before deciding between it and the Touit 12mm. So much of my UWA work is done indoors, often in poor lighting, that the extra aperture could make a ...

The cutout is fine, and the collar is very snug on the lens barrel. The positioning - on the short narrow part of the lens near the mount - means that you still have free access to all the ...
