  • Jim, you did a great job here with the colors, for such a mundane subject. I sometimes go there to buy a hotdog and soda. Clearwater area. The Costco Chicken Bake is my favorite though.
  • Well, I agree but i don't think it is that bad to be called a "Big Disappointment" but rather a disappointment. I also don't feel the excitement for the M5 to make me upgrade from the M1. I mean, ...
  • They should do something similar to what Panasonic, Olympus, Fuji and Sony are doing. All of them have basic models, compact models, full featured models, etc. All designed to cover specific needs ...
  • Irritating but it is what it is, take it or leave it. Fortunately, you can vote with your wallet and get a brand new Panasonic LX100 for $499. It has 4K and a fantastic 24-75mm f/1.7 lens is ...
  • No, is not. Mirrorless is very relevant and the way of the future for cameras designs and optics. Canon will have to create a new lens line up to exploit the advantages of closer flange distance ...
  • Well you don't seem to be an optical engineer are you? I am not one either, but I have compared the sharpest Canon EF lenses at theri sweet spot to the EF-M and almost every time the EF-M are ...
  • Mirorrless is the next step in the evolution of Camera design. Why? It allows for sharper optics, simpler more economic and robust models. The shorter flange distance makes it possible to adapt ...
  • Sharper optics, simpler more economic and robust design. The shorter flange distance makes it possible to adapt almost any lens. It gives you the option to go light and compact when using certain ...
  • Canon will eventually release their mirrorless FF. But given their market position they have to be really careful how they do it in order to keep their market share during this critical transition. ...
  • This one is definitely not a LX100 replacement since it cut a lot of corners. No EVF, no shoe mount, no ISO button, no filter or lens hood threads, etc. Apparently it also lacks WiFI. But price ...
  • I would point to 2 issues. 1. The lack of UHD option (only DCI). Really annoying and super obvious. 2. No H264 for 4K. You can still easily grab frames with an ALL-I h264 encoding, so the JPEG ...
  • I was gonna say that too. More likely is going to be of the same quality than the 80D, but with a lower bitrate. Which means, yes it will do lots of line skipping. It seems that the 80D sensor ...
  • Thanks for making this effort, but I think Canon has already set a very calculated feature  and quality threshold for the M5. The only way they would unleash the quality is if sales are way lower ...
  • This camera was ahead of its time and Canon at its best. Featuring all the basic components of a contemporary Digital Camera.
Back then it was rare to see that articulated screen in other cameras...

  • Well, this is definitely bad. It could be a hardware limitation or just deliberately crippling. I have no idea why Canon has been such a d!ck with video. But I gave up on waiting for Canon to bring ...

too much money for the features being offered. The native lenses don't inspire much confidence in the system / Canon. Where are the fast primes? Where are the cool new features? No 4K video yet, ...
  • meh
Except for the DPAF, the feature set is not enough to make me sidegrade from the M+ML to M5. In the mean time my 4K video needs are now being covered by Panasonic.
    Will UPGRADE when/if Canon...

Dude, Canon won't be abandoning the EF mount any time soon and I am sure they will continue to sell SLRs for years to come. Besides anyone can use EF lens with the adapter so i don't see you have ...
  • Looks good and functional. However, I don't like the protruding eyelets and the very limited positions of the articulated screen. My LX100 can shoot sharper videos so is very likely that I'll skip ...

I won't be wasting my time explaining once more why an EF Full Frame mirrorless doesn't make any sense. Next year Canon will release a Full Frame body based on the EF-M mount. It will be the exact ...
