About me:

My mission isn't to be wealthy
it isn't to be famous.

My intention isn't simply to make pretty images
or become a better photographer.

My goal is to be unconfined
to have choices to make art in my own way.

To continue growing and be able to respond to what is presented to me
and capture it.

And if it happens to make me wealthy, famous,
or it happens to be pretty so be it.

So this square format is just a little bit smaller than the images created on Impossible Project film. Looking forward to shooting this as well. Especially hoping they'll add the monochrome.

Sam have you looked at the Impossible Project Instant Lab ( I was deciding between these 2 a little while back. I may still pick one up.

aerodynamics: GF asked for one of these for Xmas but I got her a Selphy instead since it's more versatile and cost effective. The whole thing seems like another phase she's going through where the device eventually ends up being unused. Also, I've seen the Instax film on clearance at my local Target and they've stopped selling the cameras, signaling they are on the verge of being discontinued, or at the very least, one less source to buy refills. But after reading the comments here, I realized I've overlooked the novelty factor involved. Should I return the Selphy and get the Instax instead?

Just get the SP-1!

nerd2: I know sony is the only one innovating now, but it seems sony is exploiting that situation... Please release $1499 RX2 with 24MP and OIS. I don't need super duper 40+MP $3000 P&S...

Yeah they made that camera as the previous reply stated

ThomasH_always: Ok, dear Brittany: I have a MAJOR question:
What in God's name is POV??
Why can't you avoid usage of acronyms, which are not explained in the text?

In that context I always remember the 700-pages book with acronyms in one of my former companies. Our "star" was PIS, The Post Ignition Stage, what also could be Postal Index South. Have you already filed your pis measures with pis?

Please, we have a spoken language, use it please in full words. Or, introduce the acronym and than use it: "The camera can automatically use Personal Oven View (POV) in the kitchen and..." There, this is how unprepared readers can know what do you mean.

Google is your friend.

Langusta: Maybe I'm paranoid, but somehow I feel safer having my photos on the (local) external hdd (2nd hdd for backup of more important ones). Btw - I paid only once...

Fire safe is only rated for a certain duration, will cost a pretty penny to get one with higher ratings.

michael2011: Off topic it just me or have they started applying more compression to their images just recently? 500px pictures used to look real sharp but a lot of them look pretty crappy all of sudden. Compression artifacts in facial details are the easiest to spot. It's as if they've suddenly switched their jpegs from 90% to 60% quality. Now all I see are compression artifacts and I can't enjoy the photos anymore!

Michael2011 I would agree with you. The images on 500px have gotten quite soft. They used to have the best quality around. When I flip through Flipboard on my iPad, I can tell right away which images come from 500px, due to the extreme drop in quality.

Hahaha!

Fellow DPreviewers lets not be so negative. The price is higher then I would comfortably pay especially being that I already have the Luminous-Landscape stuff. But if this is what they want to ask so be it. Let's not discourage other creators from asking what they think something is worth. And if the market doesn't respond by buying it, then they will eventually lower the price.
