On article Adobe expands Photoshop and Lightroom offer (628 comments in total)

Island Golfer: Gee, isn't this what companies try when no one is interested in buying the original deal? Now, "everyone" can have the deal that no one wants. Wanna bet that, still, no one buys into this?

Exactly. After years of forking over lots of moola on upgrades I'm through with Adobe.

On article 5 photography apps to download to your new iPad (151 comments in total)

Perfectly Clear and Photo FX Ultra are awesome image editors in a traditional sense. I rarely use the scratch, retro, light leak filters on any of the apps mentioned. Instant 'art' is just too mindless. Instaflash used to be a good one step lighting adjustment before they broadened it out to become another Snapseed. Bummer there.

All your selections are solid, at least the ones I use: Photogene, Snapseed, adobe Touch.

On article Accessory review: Shuttr remote image capture (6 comments in total)

I believe your report of two side power switches is incorrect. One side switch enables your choice of iOS or Android device. The other (which protrudes from the case) is a power switch. You may be confusing the need to wake it up after its gone dormant before using again, but that's done with the shutter button not a side switch. There is only one power switch.

I received mine yesterday. That's the way it works anyway.

Bummer to learn you can't replace battery. Bet we could hack that.

On article How many megapixels do you need? (229 comments in total)

Guess I'll ask the Hawaii State Art Museum (HISAM) to return my
large format (24"x36") LG flip phone inkjet print they purchased in 2007. Sounds like its supposed to be impossible to make a commercially viable product with it, let alone one of today's smart phones.

On article Photo contest asks for your night shots (2 comments in total)

Bummer you have to buy ProCamera to enter.

Somewhat of a rip off in that you can ONLY enter through the Pro Camera app. That costs $4.99. It's misleading to suggest that there is no entry fee. There are plenty of online exhibition entry robots like CafePress that could have been used. If this is just a sales promo by Pro Camera I wish they'd be honest enough to simply say so.

On article Is Sony making a sensor/lens combo for smartphones? (110 comments in total)

Why bother? Almost as big as a Fuji x100s. As soon as its wifi enabled (soon I'd guess), you'd be better off carrying that around.

On article Nikon says it wants to 'change the concept of cameras' (134 comments in total)

Just the start. Soon Nikon and everyone else will offer DSLR with wifi and apps. If I can download a nifty photo app for my $200 iPhone, what can't I for my $2000 DSLR? Only logical that this is where its all headed.

I want to thank Kendall below for his critique of these lenses compared to Oloclip. As a serious iPhone shooter myself, I'd like to see an objective study with images comparing Schneider optics, Olloclip and the magnetic Amazon.com lenses. It's time to start reviewing these products seriously and not simply as cute accessories for a cellphone.

On article JackPod will put a tripod mount on any smartphone (9 comments in total)

You all need to unclench your buttocks a little. This is a good idea and would work in a pinch with any phone. There are a number of 360* pano rotators, egg timers, etc. that this would work great with. Lighten up!
