The Rare Endemics of Turkey: Centaurea tchihatcheffii
Distinguished by its very bright colour, this species is called Yanardöner or Mother's day flower due to the time of the year when it flovers. Tchihatcheff collected the type specimen in 1848 from around Ankara-Gölbaşı.
