Olympus OM-2s exposure pattern
The OM-2 was the first camera to featured Off-the-Film (OTF) metering. This was revolutionary in that the shutter could be closed in response changes in ambient lighting or flash - during the exposure! For faster shutter speeds the OTF sensor took its reading off the special pattern printed on the first shutter curtain.
