If the settings on my Z8 are set to record in slow motion video, Auto Capture is not available (dimmed). I was able to use Auto Capture to record slow motion video previously under the 2.1 firmware version. When I change the setting to record normal speed video, Auto Capture is available again.

Is this a bug that was introduced in version 3.0 or am I doing something wrong?

I discovered the variable that made Auto Capture unavailable. When changing my Image Area from DX to FX, Auto Capture was available again. I never read about this restriction, so I assume that it's a bug in the camera firmware.

No, that sounds normal to me. Many modes are restricted to certain frame sizes.
For example, there are no DX crop @120p options on the Z9, only FX and a specific 2.3x crop.

I never saw this particular restriction documented. So, it may actually be a bug. Of course Nikon gets to decide whether it's a firmware or documentation bug.
