Where are you from?

I was born in Helsinki, moved to Warsaw Poland for six years. My father worked there in the Finnish embassy. We moved back to Finland when I was six.

Three years ago me, my wife and son moved to Savonlinna, eastern Finland. This is a nice place to be in the summer with the surrounding lakes and all, but nothing much happens during the winter.

I'm from Maastricht, the Netherlands, often (and incorrectly) referred to as Holland.
Voorburg... 2200 years older... 2700BC vs 500BC Maastricht... just being a nitpicker here from above the rivers :)... because.... who cares...

Lucky to live on a vineyard in the Central Coast of California city of Templeton, CA. Only 25 minutes to the Ocean and Big Sur.

Just need to retire and enjoy this wonderful area.

I see I have a neighbor from San Luis Obispo, CA in this group.

Great place!

I was born in Venezuela, raised in Italy and now, after some time in the US I live in Denmark.

Jasonville, Indiana, USA

In southern Indiana, the heartland of the United States, home of corn fields and basketball.

Been here all my life and will die here. A great place to live and raise a family.

South America, Southern Europe, North America and now Northern Europe. I envy you! What's next, Africa, Asia or Australia ;)

Actually I was fascinated by Hong Kong when we visited some friends last year, but my wife didn't like it so no deal :D

Hi, my name is Ed. I was born and grew up in the South of Germany. I moved to beautiful Cornwall (UK) in 1982 and lived here since. My passion for photography was born when I purchased my first Sony Ericsson K800i mobile phone in 2006. 3.2 Mega Pixels, built-in Xenon Flash, image and video stabilizer function, BestPic and lots of creative/advanced settings akin to todays compact cameras.

Early last year I won £2000 on a lottery scratch card, a one-off (which was at the same time when I first heard of the new Panasonic Lumix GH2 rumours on the internet). I researched the GH2 and eventually purchased my unit including the 14:140 kit lens and a decent flashgun in December last year. Awaitng my Manfrotto legs and hybrid stills/video ball head in March.

May others be as lucky. I stashed my "win" in the drawer for many months. It was not easy but I promised to myself not to touch the cash or be damned. I wanted the GH2 very badly, my first big little digital camera! Today I feel it's the best thing I've ever done! What an upgrade from the K800i!

Thank you all in this global discussion forum for sharing your wonderful photos, your invaluable knowledge, good advice and fair criticisms on the Lumix GH2 and Micro4/3 lenses!

With kind regards,
Ed

Very nice. I'd lost track of this thread so hadn't seen these shots, although I think I saw some of your shots of the snow and traffic along the lake in Chicago from that same vantage point...

I'm tempted to say I recognize your PA place from the photo, but there are so many scenes so much like that all over Chester County that it could be any one of them!

The Palouse! I love that area. Lived for years in Seattle and used to head over to Eastern WA a lot. Did a photo project in college (early '80s) and shot a lot of black and white of those hills. Have a couple of them on my walls still.
