WAY over sized load

Nice small beam. Was he taking this over the mountains?
I came upon this rig parked by the side of the road, and I've never
seen such a long truck load anywhere. Had to stop and grab a few
shots.

Looked to me like a humongous support beam for a bridge or
something. (Bill Harris, what would you guess?)
And this third shot REALLY gives you a sense of how long the load
was. This is all one vehicle:

I sure am glad I don't have to parallel-park that thing.

Happy Easter,

David

That's wild. Thanks for taking a picture and showing it to us. It looks like a photshop creation. I noticed it's two I-beams. That must be a very heavy load, too. J-

Good lord! Frankly, I'm surprised something like that is allowed on the road. Although, come to think of it, it wouldn't fit on a train either. Uh, it's BIG! "Oversize" is kinda the understatement of the year.

BTW, nice shots.--Best,Laurie

Hi David,

I am going to need more than justing breaking it in to shoot the Northeast Kingdom but I hope I will be tuned up for the summer then fall foliage. By the way that beam is going in up the road towards Morrisville as I passed it enroute home before I saw the steel.
Regards,
Pops
Hi Pops,

Well....when you get your E-10 all broken in and the weather
finally turns nice, maybe we should have a "northern Vt photo day"?

Best wishes,

David

David,

Yeah, those are headed to Vegas for use as twin I beams in the latest stretch limo using the Kenworth cab! That is some serious load right there! Are you sure this wasn't some PS effect? Great shots and thanks for sharing.

Hey David

Wow Thats one big hunk of iron. I did not realize just how big until the 3rd shot. I wonder what kind of crane they have that could lift that. Bet that would make a good shot to. Thanks for sharing.

David, there can't be many 'Roundabouts' on its route!

Really interesting shots - (looked long and hard at the stretched shot to see if it fitted April 1st!!!!)

David,

Wish I had stopped in earlier for a look-see.

Imagine the right turns; even with the trailer wheels set near the middle!!!!!!!!

Hi Jason,

Ya...that beam would protect many a mobile home......but I hear it's actually headed for Nantucket harbor, to serve as a boat anchor for Donald Trump's yacht.

Hi John,

It does look like a PS stitched panorama.......but it's honestly one single truck. Yes, and I would say heavy!

Hi Laurie (Self Discipline Award Winner, 2002),

Pretty amazing, huh? I really can't imagine driving around in that rig. It's been parked in that spot for a couple of days now.....maybe the driver got fed up and just quit?

Best wishes,

Hi Les,

Nope.....no PS effect. But I agree it's something that would seem more at home in Las Vegas.....or maybe Disney World.
