. . . even on this cheap monitor at work. Dynomite composition!

And great job in the cold, where, as far as I could tell, you weren't wearing any gloves/mittens or anything! (On your hands, I mean.)

I had them with me, and I don't remember if I used them or not, but it was certainly cold enough.

I think I may have used a mitten on my nose though. Didn't you get a shot of that?

For me, the center of interest is the sky. You could put almost anything under that sky and make it look good.

Not to downgrade the photo, which I like very much. I guess I better buy Ron's book on setting the alarm clock early . . . .
I'm also beginning to learn from Ron's book that arrived day before yesterday.
Cheers.

Hi Greg,

These (in AdobeRGB) show a few more angles. 7126 was taken just as the first golden rays of sunlight hit the array. 1743 was taken just before the one originally posted, but from the other side. The human array in 7155 is Len, Dennis and Mike.

see Jodi Foster?

Hehe... Beautiful pic. I guess timing is everything, huh? Do you
have any more pics of the VLA that you can post? I'd like to see
more.

Thanks, Steve. In that place, getting up early most definitely makes a difference. We had about 15 minutes of good light.

Sunset would probably be pretty cool too though :^)

Thanks for the compliment!

Ron
Just goes to show you what a good eye, coupled with an interesting
composition, using good technique, and a solid knowledge of post
processing technique can do for an image. Oh, and, uhh, getting up
nice and early helps too! It's a real beauty, Ron!
