Using DPP4 to process R7 cRaw files on Windows 11 PC

Lightroom and I imagine DXO make low res copies of RAW images and work on those. I don't think DPP does. I could be wrong. It is done for speed of processing and has no effect on the screen resolution.

Lightroom uses the processing data in the history and then renders a file using the whole full res raw image. Again I could be wrong.
Prioritize speed or prioritize quality: https://cam.start.canon/en/S002/manual/html/UG-04_EditImage_0040.html#EditImage_0130_4

It is not clear to me where that option is in the preferences.

In image processing 2 thee is a choice of the size or RAW images.

Again not sure what that means. It is like a low res proxy?

I do not know what a "low res proxy" is. The link to the DPP manual goes directly to a description of the option with cautions about its use. The icon for the menu tab is a gear.

When doing time consuming algorithms in DPP, the display will update quicker when zoomed to 400% because the displayed portion is updated first while the rest is updated in the background. For time consuming things like digital lens optimizer, it seems better to me to view the results at 400% anyway.

I have never tried prioritize speed instead of quality and cannot guess why someone would want it. If one preferred speed to quality, then one could use the out of camera JPEG.
