Timestamp in video after .MTS file conversion

When I use my NEX6 (or RX100) to record video in AVCHD (.mts files), there is no timestamp visible on the file. However, if I then convert that .mts file to .avi or .mp4 (using Xilisoft for example), all of a sudden there is a timestamp in the converted video. This is something exclusive to my Sony .MTS files. If I convert a video downloaded from another camera, or from the internet, there is no timestamp.

If I use my NEX6 (or RX100) to record in .MP4, there is no timestamp visible on the original file or in the converted file.

Any ideas how to stop this from happening? Again, there is no visible timestamp in the original .MTS file -- only in the subsequently converted file.

Sounds to me like a Xilsoft question more than a NEX one -- I have a 7 and use Clipwrap and have no such problem, if that helps.

Thanks for the response. The reason I think it's NOT xilisoft is that I can take video from the NEX6 -- one file an AVCHD mts file, and one file a MP4 file -- and only a converted file using the mts original will have the timestamp (using the same settings of course). I guess it's possible Xilisoft handles each file differently..

Thats right. Choose Effects and uncheck the subtitles option and you are good to go. The converted file wont have the timestamp info. I used Xilinx video converter.
