I haven't looked, but shouldn't this post be on the Sigma and Samples & Galleries forums?

Probably is there, but do you not think this qualifies as either News or Discussion? A new camera release pending and the first truly sample images from the manufacturer's website surely qualifies as news as much as the majority of other posts here??

I've always thought that the News Discussion Forum is for discussion of items that are on the News page. This isn't.

Sigma SD-14 has not been released yet. All announcements related to the camera specifically from Sigma should be qualified for News discussion.

The jaggies make an impression, allright ;)
Your knee jerk comment shows a marked lack of knowledge. The only sign of "jaggies" was within photos when they initially open ... this is due to screen resolution and the size of the photo there-in displayed; i.e. smaller than full size ... probably sized to fit your screen.

If the photo is expanded to full size the apparent jaggies go away, showing the true nature of the photo. I can see No jaggies in the full size photos.

In the landscape section I see two photos by Kendall Gelner. You?

Congrats!

And I see one by Lawrence Matson. Mmm, it's a small world...

It was, but that thread is already at 150 and over with. I agree
that the topic is of general enough interest to belong in the news
forum.

Well thanks for thinking I´m an idiot.

Of course I look at the pics in their native size. And if you can´t see the jaggies, maybe that´s good for you. And for me, that saves me the time to download, crop and post examples you wouldn´t be able to see anyway.

Hi Ralf,

Would you mind pointing out which photo and where you see these jaggies? The thing about the SD14 images which has impressed me is their absence so I would like to see what you are seeing.

I've looked at a fairly large number of SD14 photos and I'm just not seeing what you are but I'm open to learning new things.

Thanks,

Lin

I downloaded all the SD14 photos and they look really great.

Now, I will like to know how the camera performs at ISO 800 and slow shutter speeds.

All nice pics but what exactly is so good about these pic's that hasn't been displayed with other dslr's?
Was the camera stuck on ISO 100?
At $1600 it had better take good images at ISO 100.

One of the images was at 400 and one at 200. I guess it's a testamnet to improvement that you thought they were all 100.

As for what is good - try printing some. Try examing them up close.

It seems not even the Sigma forum was impressed.
Check out their responses.

Yes, the responses were mixed - and if you look at the most vocal critics, you'll find very little pleases them in any matter. Such is the way of internet forums...

If you read through the responses you'll see more good that bad. The only real complaint expressed generally is that people would like to see sample images with a higher ISO.
