Hello,

I have an old photo of my wife's grandmothers grandparents that she wants to fix up for a present for her grandmother. I have a scan of the image and it contains a pattern that looks something like this

(The scan was at 9348x6912 and this is 100% crop at that resolution).

I imagine this is something to do with the paper that was scanned, is there a process that can remove or significantly reduce the noticability of the pattern? I have been able to select the background and use a gaussian blur on it but that doesn't work so well on faces ;)

I normally use Gimp.

Thanks
Adam

There is a plug in available that works wonders for repetative patterns like this. I read a review on the process on another website maybe digital pro I don't recall. When I go home I can locate it and point you to the link. I have it installed on PSCS2 not sure if it works with GIMP

The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE.'

Ernst Haas,

May I suggest that you READ my link above ... ALL of it. It contains all the information ... instruction, action, and brush ... to accomplish what is required here. This subject has been beaten to death in this forum and the results are all contained in my link. Just read it ...
