So in the past I had used Smart Previews in my LR catalogs so I didn't need to have the original photos necessarily when I traveled (i could still edit). The one thing i never tried, and was wondering, is if you send a photo from LRC to PS (say a RAW file with some adjustments) what happens when you save the file in PS because usually it just saves it as a TIF file if you don't specify a location or name (as it gets this from LR before it is sent over).

How is this handled when the drive with your originals on it is not present? Does it just prompt you where to save the file and then links it back to that location in the catalog?

PLEASE NOTE: I usually unsubscribe from forums and comments after a period of time, so if I do not respond, that is likely the reason. Feel free to PM me if you have a questions or need clarification about a comment I made.

I don’t know how that would work. Maybe try creating a new catalogue just for testing. See what happens.
