I am observing the problems while uploading large video files(more than 1GB) from my Canon 550D to my PC.

I use Windows XP pro only to deliver files from camera SD card to dedicated folder in my PC.
There are no problems with the smaller files.
Can you suggest the possible solutions please.

What is the problem? Do the files come over corrupt or just not copy over?

How are you connecting the card to the PC?

Are you using windows explorer to copy the files over or some other utility like what comes with lightroom or photoshop?

Thanks.
The large files can be uploaded to PC by using the card reader.
Doing it from 550D is not possible.
You simply get 0 kB empty file at the end of the process.

You still did not answer the question about how you've been trying (unsuccessfully) to transfer the files. If you're just plugging in your camera and expecting it to show as another drive, it won't work. You either need to transfer using the Canon utilities or use a card reader.

It really was by plugging in my camera and showing an another drive(Canon EOS 550D).
Worked properly with the small files in this way before.
With the large ones only using the card reader was successful.
Which Canon utility is useful for the purposes of files transfer?

That is a known problem in old versions of WinXP. There was a file size limit of 210 MB as well as a total transfer size of 2048 MB in one transfer.

Microsoft released a hot fix for it ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814390/en-us ) and it is included in SP3. Maybe even SP2. Although you can do just the hot fix, you should do the SP3 upgrade. SP3 fixes a LOT of issues.
