I did order and get right away one of the 630PS printers. I just set
it up Saturday and have a problem right off the bat. Running it
through the computer on the USB port, I send a picture to it, it feeds
paper from the tray out the back, sounds like a motor running and then
get paper jam on the (computer) screen. I pull out the paper and check
the film cart, looks fine, close it up and try again. Does the same
thing over and over again. Also the paper tray has a small partition
in the front of it, I had to fold it down, is that right, no mention
in the instructions. Also, I do have the paper loaded right, big perf
to the front.

Anyone had this problem?

Thanks,

John

Dear Sir,

We are sorry to hear your problem. There is one thing you can try at first. Please try it by a standalone mode, that means put a CF/SM card, then operate it w/o PC. If it still happen same thing, please contact with HiTi US branch at office hour on Monday, they will help you to solve your problem.

The normal operation steps of machine are:
1. Machine pick up paper from paper tray
2. Paper climb up to the tray back of machine
3. Then machine process first Yellow frame printing
4. Repeat step 3 for M, C and O

When you see the paper jam on screen, that means paper got problem from step 1 to step 2.

Please make sure your paper tray plug into machine firmly, close the door firmly. After that you still got problem, then you need professional help from HiTi. Following is the contacting information of HiTi US branch. They will help you from Mon to Fri office hour. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Nope, never had any problem with my 630PS. In fact, I never noticed that little fold down thingy in the front of the paper tray until you mentioned it. Mine is folded down like yours is. Don't know what that's for really! The larger perforations should be facing you and the HiTi logos should be on the bottom.

One of the interesting things about this printer is that even though it seems to pull a piece of paper through one time (when the ribbon is out) and then hesitates and churns a bit before finally spitting that piece back out, you can just put that piece back in the tray and it'll work fine after you change the ribbon. Make sure that you take out any slack in the ribbon also before you put it back in. If you continue to have problems, it's probably a faulty printer (the first one that I've seen mentioned).

Sincerely, Bob the Printer

Dear Bob,

That fold is for sticker. Because sticker paper is shorter than normal photo paper, when you use stickers, raise it up, use photo paper, put it down.

i don't know if this is a problem or not but my 630PL seems to be loud when it goes through the printing process....is that normal? and is it okay to leave the power on cus i don't think it has a standby mode??

thanks,

PeaceOut

Dear Sir,

1. If every thing works fine, then your 630 PL should be okay.

2. Machine will go to sleeping mode after 15 mins, even it doesn't turn off the indicator. However, we still suggest you to switch the power off when you don't use it for a long time.

Dear HITI Support,

You have seen that some, me included, have had problems with the dust in the prints. To solve this would only take a minute to design a cloth type cover with the HITI logo.

How long till you could let me test the dust cover for you????
