OT - How did you pick your log in name?

The name of my barbershop quartet is the "River City Rascals" so, I chose rcrascal---only problem, I inadvertently hit the s instead of c when I registered. I didn't realize it at the time and just left it there. My Smugmug name is Geno----I wish I had chozen that instead but I've done a lot of things in life I wish I could do over, Now you know, Gene

The name of my photography company: Rick Tinsley Photography. RT Photo is what I have printed on the back of my prints to help prevent unauthorized coping.

"Forth" was a conveniently short login I'd already used in a couple of web forums (having used my real name for several years in usenet newsgroups prior to that)..... and it was chosen because of living in Edinburgh, which is next to the Forth estuary. If I was starting now, I might go for "Solway" instead.

Theresa K is pretty obvious, it's short for Theresa Kelly, I
figured using my 'real' name made it easy for people to remember
me. It seems to have worked! I also use the same name on pbase
and smugmug.

Three initials related to my work that allow people to recognize me and a nickname that I use in cyberspace.

Thanks Theresa, a fun and informative thread. My tswill2 came from using my first 2 initials (ts) and the will from Williams. The 2 was tagged on by yahoo many years ago and I've used it since for uniformity. Helps to remember when your memory is starting to fade. They say that the memory is the second thing to go, and I've forgotten what the first is.........

Well isn't that funny. I thought of the old Deep Purple song when I
first saw your log in name too!
I'm glad some one reconized that song! Deep Purple used to be one of my favorite groups (back when?). Anyone younger than 30 probably has no idea who we are talking about. But that was a group that could rock!

In short, I deny nothing, but doubt everything.'

'There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
there is rapture in the lonely shore,
there is society where none intrudes,
by the deep sea, and music in its roar;
I love not Man the less, but Nature more.'

'But words are things, and a small drop of ink,
Falling like dew, upon a thought, produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think.'

Mine is my nick name from high school. In high school there were five Jason out over a class of 200. Four of the 5 were on the football team. To stump of confusion people just used the 1st letter of the 1st name and 1st cou0ple of letters from the last to make the names. So was and am still am JMatt (jason matthews). Like JRob is Jason Robinson, JDave Jason Davis, and Jason Coleman is JCole.

I have Deep Purple V-I-N-Y-L .. the real deal, no sissy CD's. Ritchie Blackmore rocked!

... along with vinyl by Jimmy Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Judas Priest, Triumph, Neil Young, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin. Man, that vinyl hasn't seen the light of day in decades ... I play the CD's now - rock on!
I got my user name' hiwaystar' from an old" Deep Purple" song by
that title. Since I liked Deep Purple a lot and I am on the
internet a lot (information highway) I think the name fits.
Sometimes I will use 'chillwolf' when the name hiwaystar is taken
on a forum. Thats my E-Bay name too.

I'm 42 years old and my real name is Truman. I'm 6'4" since about the 8th grade so I've been "Big-T" for so many years I can't remember when it started......probably around the 7th grade.

that's it.

Mononcle, what does it mean?

Mononcle should really be 'mon oncle' which means 'my uncle' in French. But in Quebec, people pronounce it as one word, because it's always 'my uncle', never just 'uncle'. It's so much one word that when I was a kid, we use to say 'mon mononcle', 'my myuncle, now that's a bit ridiculous. In France it would be Tonton Jacques. :)

Why Mononcle Jacques?

My real name is Steven Davis, I’m using the Mononcle Jacques name because when I started racing online, I wanted others to know I’m French and from Quebec.

Who is the real Mononcle Jacques?

Mononcle Jacques is well known in Quebec, current F1 racer Jacques Villeuneuve has an uncle whose name is also Jacques, Gilles’ brother. To differentiate the two, Mononcle Jacques kind of became his name.

He also had a racing career, he’s had a bad reputation being jealous of is nephew and of hitting walls, and had a long career racing ski-doo’s, in which he also had some mean crashes, he still races ski-doo’s. Actually, he wasn’t that bad and something that cannot be taken away from him is that he’s the first Canadian winner of an Indy race.

This must be a record for most responses in a short period of time. Mine reflects my relationship to my son's main hobby, racing radio control (RC) cars.

And the stretch in http://stretch.smugmug.com/ is because a few people I work with starting calling me stretch because I'm tall and 'relativly' skinny, at least I am compared to the one who started calling me that :)
