I've just read a contribution from someone pointing out that SH1 will get a perfectly focused shot of a subject coming towards you. I suppose the other way of looking at it is that it will also give you 100 out of focus pictures. It's a bit like a stopped clock will always be right twice in twenty four hours but wrong all the rest of the time. I have never used SH1. I'd be interested in how people use SH1, other things it is useful for and do you end up with a zillion pictures from which you have to identify the correct one.

Taking photos of water drops, ice cubes or fruit bring dropped into a glass of water and get the right moment.

If i see some rare bird then exactly like that...lot of deleting afterwards but at least i get some shots. Sometimes most of the shots are in focus, then it is hard....to choose what to keep :)

SH2 I use a good deal for sports and it's very adroit at staying on subjects coming towards of going away from me. SH1 locks focus at frame 1 of a burst, so better for things moving into/away from a static location, e.g., perched bird or nest, runner arriving at first base, etc.

I don't often find myself needing 120 fps.

Cheers,

Rick
