This summer has been a great one for a lot of reasons.
  1. Firstly, the weather in NYC has been a lot better than what it was last year, it actually feels like Summer!
  2. Secondly, I bought a Triumph Bonneville (pics to come soon) which I've been riding incessantly like a small kid!
  3. Third reason, this weather makes me want to cook a lot more and my wife and I have been whipping up some really yummy meals at home. We've also been putting up more flowers at home and brightening up the place.
  4. And lastly, I've been enjoying taking pictures......I honestly hope everyone out there is doing the same and making the most of your gear :-)
The next post has some shots from the past couple of weeks, sort of a mixed bag with no theme. I hope you enjoy these snapshots and as always all comments are welcome!

Cool post and VERY nice images! I love the fried rice, but I'm so hungry now.

My list:

1) Bought an E-30 that totally renewed my vigor for photography, which lead to me starting to feel slightly more competent

2) Trips to Scotland, Ireland and Maui allowed me to focus my renewed vigor in places that have photogenic scenery

3) I started participating in this forum a lot more than in the past, especially the Wed C&C, and have learned a lot about composition ideas and post processing techniques

Yup, definitely true. Longest holidays in several years, etc.

Hmmm, that goes the whole year round. Cooking is my antistress program. Especially the last dismal winter (ok I admit it, I am a winter hater) was bad. Cooking Mediterranean food style (and others) helps :-)

Not enough time, or patience when you are on the road with the family, but that's not really their fault. So yes, when the opportunity arose it was satisfying (more so on screen at home!). I'd like to do a true photographic trip, but that is not going to happen the next few years.

Cheers

On the Pulao, is that Koriander?? Yummm

Like the images, especially your cityscapes. That's the only reason for having skyscrapers around in my opinion ;-) Otherwise I prefer medieval layouts ...

Raj

Love The Rising Sun, Party Leftovers and The View.

My summer has seen me working a lot unfortunately, but as the weather here in my area of England has not been great this hasn't been too bad.

Photography wise I guess I've taken more images and participated on here more, and have entered my first Oly Challenge.

Cheers

John

The pulao and the kheema, no ?? Or so it seems to me...

Nevermind, i'd eat both at the same time. (tonight is Thai, though, but i'd take both anytime !).

Loved the balloons shot, by the way !

Have fun,

Marc

I made a mistake, the Pulao is actually the rice, the kheema is the meat and yes that's coriander a very staple garnish in Indian cooking :-)

I couldn't agree more! The longer you live in NYC, the less you look upwards, which actually becomes a very big differentiator netween locals and natives...but I still anjoy looking upwards :-)

That's what matters most! Its nice to be able to keep taking one's hobby forward. I've actually purchased a couple of new lenses as well and hopefully will make the most of them!

LOL, I'm ALWAYS hungry! :P
My list:

1) Bought an E-30 that totally renewed my vigor for photography, which lead to me starting to feel slightly more competent
Its nice to buy new gear from time to time, it makes you want to experiment and do new things. I bought the PL25 and have been having a blast with it!
2) Trips to Scotland, Ireland and Maui allowed me to focus my renewed vigor in places that have photogenic scenery
Now I'm jealous, I'll be travelling internationally a lot more next year too, can't wait!
3) I started participating in this forum a lot more than in the past, especially the Wed C&C, and have learned a lot about composition ideas and post processing techniques
Stick to the creative threads and steer away from the arguments, that's the only advice I have for you :)

Love the ballons! The kheema and coriander looks really good! Good thing it's almost lunch.

Great series, Raj. My faves are the balloons and the food shots - yummy as usual.

So, have you been taking your Bonneville outside of NYC yet?

Cheers

I couldn't agree more, cooking is relaxing and eating great food cooked at home with some good wine (scotch for me) is the most relaxing thing at times!

My aim is to go on a safari next year, let's see if that comes true!

It is inverted, lol! I didn't notice that and I remember you've had indian roommates so know quite a bit about Indian food :-)
Nevermind, i'd eat both at the same time. (tonight is Thai, though, but i'd take both anytime !).
Sounds yummy!

Thanks Marc :-)
Have fun,
You too and give Arthur a big tight hug for me, will you?

Thanks so much :)

So far I've made a few long trips to South Jersey which has been a lot of fun. This weekend the weather is great, so my wife and I are planning a ride to a small town called Cold Springs in upstate NY which should be a lot of fun too. I really do enjoy riding!

Hmmm, thought so from your images, though I never heard of Pulao/Kheema before.

At first I thought Koriander to be too strong in taste, so I preferred parsley. But since helping my Vietnamese colleague to cook I changed my mind.

I guess I need to check out more Indian restaurants / recipes in the future.

Cheers

And now you have! :)

I do prefer coriander as it has a lovely aroma and the taste is actually very subtle, I think you'll like it.
I guess I need to check out more Indian restaurants / recipes in the future.
Happy endeavours, new restaurants can be quite an adventure!

in fact on a second look they are all good. There's a distinctive look of the PL25 in some of these .. did you use it for all of them?
