I currently use Hi-Tech Format square filters and especially like how colour-neutral their ND filters are.

However, I'm thinking of changing to a magnetic filter system, mainly for speed and ease of use. Currently looking at the Kase Revolution 77mm Pro Kit with magnetic step-up rings for my different lenses.

From other people's experience, are the Kase filters truly colour-neutral? I don't want anything that is going to give a colour cast.

Are there any other magnetic systems people would recommend in preference to Kase Revolution?

There might be some tests online, esp on YouTube. I saw some when I got my NDs. I use Kolari's since tests showed they were the most color neutral, but probably to the point of overkill for many. They do a lot of filter stuff for IR, UV, etc, so it can be more critical there. But great filters. And they have the Atlas System, which is pretty cool. But again, maybe more than you're looking for.

If you've got a mirrorless maybe a magnetic cllp-in filter. More secure, smaller. I use those a lot now, but the disadvantage is you can't stack them. Help's keep the sensor clean too.

I just responded to another similar thread on the topic, and would recommend checking out Maven Filters (of Michael the Maven). Not trying to advertise, just happy with what the product has turned out to be so far.

He just wrapped up his second wave of kickstarter for various/additional filters.

I have several CPL and ND's from his first wave and have been quite happy. They are magnetic, color coded, and have different knurling around the edge for each type/strength. I also have some magnetic lens caps and a lens hood. I think the color coding/knurling on the edges is becoming a trend amongst several brands lately.

They replaced a combination of old B&W, Hoya, and Breakthrough Photography filters I had before. I was using my old filters with Xume magnetic filter and lens rings/adapters (long since defunct brand), and wanted to replace with one brand that would work everywhere and have zero compatibility issues.

I'm picking up a linear (instead of circular) polarizer with the wave 2 as it should have less color cast than a cpl, and mirrorless cameras are not impacted by its use. I have had no issue with color cast with the ND's.

I agree you should check out the line of filters from Maven. They are a relatively new brand, so not as well known and not as widely distributed as more established brands such as Kase. They are now shipping their second Kickstarter (Wave 2) filters that include dark polarizers, grads and others. Innovative and very responsive to inquiries. Their website (mavenfilters.com) has tests they've done for color neutrality.

I've been very happy with Freewell magnetic filters - I have both 77mm and 82mm sizes. I also have some Formatt Hitech square filters which I no longer use.

I'm not sure if there truly is such a thing as a perfectly neutral ND filter, at least on the 10-stop end of things, but I've been happy with the Freewells. No desire to buy anything else at this point.

Thanks for all your comments.

Yes, I remembered about Mavern filters after I made the original post and would probably have gone for those out of preference but they don't appear to be distributed in the UK except through Amazon (at a rediculously expensive price). It's cheaper if you buy direct from the Maven website but by the time you've added shipping and tax, it's still prohibitively expensive.

I got a good price on a set of the Kase Filters at the recent Photography Show at the NEC and so bought those instead.

I use a 95mm set of Kase revolutions (I previously had a set of Kase wolverines), and have been happy. The wolverine set I had had slight color cast issues (especially with the 6 stop), but the new revolutions are better, and I haven't noticed any (not that there was really much of an issue outside of the 6 stop with the wolverines).
