I'm paraphrasing here, but I believe it says "meh" :)

Nothing new here compared to previous specs. It just says it has a better AF as requested by consumers, much much better weather sealing, much better video without any moire and capability to use video in true darkness. The article insist a lot about the fact this is the best video which make it the more versatile tool on the market without leaning towards the mega pixel trend. The author is very excited about it! But hey...he does not say he tested it.

It clearly says it put the 5DII to shame in terms of video. No moire and alliasing.

It is absolutely silent in term of still iso capabilities though.

Also, it says price and availability is unknown.

Forgot to say, the camera is also incredibly silent compared to 5DII.

Here goes: I'm not going to translate every word, just the more interesting stuff.

After reading it through, there isn't much interesting other than the specs. I'll translate more later if you want.

PHOTO is the first media outlet in France to get a hands on this new major camera.

...Canon wants to seduce the photo and video market.

It's hard to replace the 5DMKII that came out in Sept 2008. It's considered as a game changing camera in the world of photo and video. Therefore, Canon is trying to do the impossible, make it even better.

Always the best/strongest
Canon interviewed thousands of users and has used their suggestions.
100% viewfinder coverage
More realistic colours
150000 shutter actuation life rather than 100000 with the 5DMKII

Revised AF
-Uses the same 61 point AF module of the 1DX usable up to f5.6

-Canon has chosen to concentrate on image quality rather than image size (megapixels)

-With ISO becoming more important to photographers and videographers the ISO is now up to 25600 (with boost up to 100200)
-This new sensor captures images without moiré or aliasing
-The benchmark of the MKII is broken with the new Digic 5 processor.

Professional technology
The dual card slots allow mirroring or separating your JPEGs and RAW files.

Our recommendation
-We would have liked to have had a pop up flash

The specs at the bottom are pretty obvious.

It looks like there is a new grip: the BGE7 - I was hoping that it might take the BGE6 since it takes the same batteries. 6fps standard, or 3fps in 'silent' mode - might be nice for street photography.

Add to that what they call a "true silent mode" in which burst mode goes down to 3fps.

3.2inches screen at 1,040,000 dots

The same AF module as the one in the 1Dx

They specify that the censor is a brand new one and as danharperphotography says above, they claim it captures images without moiré or aliasing

Auto ISO up to 25600

Digic5+ can burst out 16270 Large jpg at 6fps before it fills up (Is there a card that can actually contain that many?)

Dual slot cards CF and SD

They also mention an HDR Mode, Smart Auto, Image addition?, in camera editing and micro adjust per seial number but don't go into details about any of them.

Microphone and headphone jack, optical connection and continuous or progressive timecode?, ALL-I individual image encoding, wireless video release

Sounds to me like they built a nice top flight jack of all trades.

It takes the 7D grip.

Looks like they're hoping to lure 7D users and it might just work... for me at least... lol

May I ask you, where you get this scan?

Probabbly my scan which was not determined to be available free on web. Please buy the best photo magazine in the world, the french PHOTO, available worldwide at photo.fr
Thanks,
Jan

Great auto focus
High FPS
Seems to have a huge buffer (unlike the sony A77)
Large pixel size (Better DR and Noise)
Great Canon Lenses

Perfect resolution for 1080p video (1920 x 1080 x R B G channels factor in 16x9 ratio of the sensor and you have the optimum resolution for video; no line skipping required)

The D800 is a great body, but I don't believe many Nikon lenses will keep up with all those pixels. IQ will still be good.

Aside from that, the D800 is going to be a slow camera. The 5DIII will be the easy way into sports photography.

agree?

I do not know its original origin but feel free to provide us a link.

I'm French and I can tell you that article doesn't say anything except: "We know that you know whatthe camera was basically going to be feature-wise, but I just want to tell you that it's an sweet and awesome camera as well. Don't buy anything else, please wait for it for some more time". What an useless article...

I don't read French but it appears that it's not going to be available until September.

maybe they can at least toss in another fps or 2 by Sept. if this to be some revolutionary new camera after a full 4 year wait and not a single bit of MP increase
