How do you use your 60D "C" mode?

I do not understand why RAW is used. I do understand that it is and takes a large file, 25+MB. Why?
Don't know if I missed the sarcasm here, but anyway:

The reason it is large is because it contains a lot more information in each pixel. Simply put, 4096 levels of intensity rather than 256 in a jpg (a lot more complicated than that, because it is the raw sensor data and doesn't really consist of pixels but photo sites with a single color)

No one that bothers carrying around a dSLR should shoot jpg IMHO. A waste.

Ditto on that. The only time I switch to jpg is when on vacation for snapshots. Everyting else I consider important is shot in RAW. One reason I have a big server with a RAID tower and an NAS device in my home network.
