HELP! HELP HELP!
Please help me, I have a Sony A7CII purchased a year ago.
This morning the sea was rough so I took advantage of it to go to the beach to take some photos. Everything was fine until I gently pressed on the screen to move the focus area. I don't know why but the monitor screen turned off. I turned off the camera and then turned it on, but the screen remained off. I took the battery out and put it back in, but the screen remained off. The screen is not broken because when I press the menu button or the bottom left button (playback) the screen turns on regularly. What could have happened? Has anyone had the same problem?
p.s. I would like to point out that the camera takes photos regularly and that it has not suffered any trauma, no falls, nothing at all..

I SOLVED IT... I reset it and it's back to new.
Now it works perfectly, I solved it myself, but it's important to know that you can count on a community that can give you valuable advice for any type of problem. So thanks to everyone anyway!

Admit it! You pressed the Display button and no display was active as an option?

Ora funziona perfettamente, l'ho risolto da solo, ma è importante sapere che puoi contare su una community che può darti preziosi consigli per qualsiasi tipo di problema. Quindi grazie a tutti comunque!
Ammettilo! Hai premuto il pulsante Display e non era attivo alcun display come opzione?
Actually, you're right: I was an idiot, and so to avoid having to reset everything again, I wanted to understand what I did: I first moved the focus with my finger on the display, then I pressed the "Disp" button to change the display screen, but I definitely turned off the display, and then I pressed the center button again to move the focus crosshair, so when I pressed the "Disp" button several times, I only moved the focus crosshair upwards, because that was enabled and not the display modes. And turning it off or removing the battery is useless.
I'm not a native English speaker, I hope my explanation was exhaustive.

I have 3 camera systems and a short memory, so I am guilty of hitting a button and then not understanding what I did to mess things up. I can handle a G9ii and S5iiX fairly well, because they are similar and I use them the most, but I have forgotten many things about an Olympus OM-1 and Sony A1. And I am worse as I age!

Frankly, it is objectively understandable that with cameras of different brands it is complicated to remember buttons that have double and triple functions, but above all in a few years the camera menus have expanded beyond measure, there are so many submenus with infinite customizations. I think that with so many different cameras I would have done worse! I must also confess that a year after purchasing it I do not know many functions of my Sony A7 CII (my fault for not taking the necessary time to read the manual) and therefore, if you do not pick up the camera with a certain assiduity, but only when you have a bit of free time, you feel awkward, you risk making a fool of yourself and feeling like an idiot.

the ribbon cable on my a1 monitor wear out after 2.5 years. i use the monitor quite alot for low angle shooting.
