HELP! EVF/ LCD not switching while recording movie

This is happening on both the x100v and x100vi.

EVF works with eye sensor fine while setting up a recording. Pull eye away and LCD works fine.

When I hit record whatever mode I was in (EVF or LCD) while recording it will not switch to the other.

So if I am looking through the viewfinder and hit record— and then pull my eye away the LCD will not show anything.

If I am looking at the LCD and. hit record the camera will not switch to the EVF when looking through the viewfinder. Only the LCD works.

this doesn’t happen until I hit record.

This doesn’t happen in photography mode.

I can’t find the answer anywhere.

In the manual it says that for "EYE SENSOR + LCD IMAGE DISP." - "This setting cannot be selected while shooting movies."
