Hasselblad X2D: rolling shutter problem with non-HB lenses

Going back to the OP, how do you like your Leica lenses on the X2D?
For me, I don't see the point in using Leica lenses on the X2D. On the M11 I use 35APO and 50 APO, rarely 28 summicron, on the X2D 38 and 55, less often 35-75 and 90, very rarely 28. When I need speed and compactness I use the M11, when color is more important I use the X2D. On a sunny day I also prefer the M11, since the dynamic range of any EVF is very limited.
On a high contrast day, sunny or cloudy, I use X2D in M mode and turn off the exposure simulation. Still not as good for framing as an OVF.
+1 on the OVF. I was thinking of buying an X2D and tried my buddy's. Looking through the EVF, I said "Nope. I watch enough television already." Why rangefinders (and the Nikon Df) will never die.

The Leica OVF does not allow exact framing especially not at close focusing distance as it only shows frame size close to infinity.

That is true as long as we talk about M's OVFs. But sometimes, that is better than seeing nothing in the EVF because the shadow detail turned too dark to avoid highlight clipping. Some EVF cameras allow a quick switch to OVF simulation, which often helps.

I am not the OP but tested a few of my Leica M-mount lenses on an X1D.

First, a special case is the AstrHori 40mm 5,6 which has an M-mount but is designed for 44x33 coverage. It does indeed cover the whole sensor with moderate vignetting and is quite sharp corner to corner.

From my more traditional lenses, the only one which gave decent coverage without hard mechanical vignetting when stopped down was my Summulix 50 1,4 ASPH. Still, corners were quite weak.

All my other M lenses (18mm Super Elmar, 28mm Summicron, 50 2.5 Color Skopar, 75mm Summicron, 90 Elmarit) showed a clear lack of coverage with very dark or even black corners, the 75mm being the most usable from the bunch, with stronger vignetting but sharper corners than the 50 Summilux.

Now, most (apart from the Super Elmar) could probably be used with a 1:1 or 24:65 crop and stopped down a bit, but shooting adapted lenses in ES mode is a bit of a pain as illustrated in this thread. You have to keep the camera perfectly steady after the EVF blacks out. I did not find the experience pleasant or even natural. But for still shots on a tripod, it is certainly an option.

Hi,

eventually, I bought the camera. The seller ,who lives not far fro my place, was kind enough to let me test his X2D with exactly the configuration I needed: Leica Lens + M->HB Adapter and 14 bit.

Although I have to give up on the 16 bit option, at least when shooting hand-held, I have had no problems shooting with this setup. For me that is more then enough, I always have my Nikon ZF, which is fantastic for shooting any kind of vintage lenses.

Thank you everybody for your comments, they helped me to take the right decision.
