Great RX10 review with tons of samples

I tried but it doesn't seem to work at the moment. But I saw the exif says ~5MP, so still not the original I think. It would be interesting to see the original at pixel level. When you have the time of course.

That mushyness in the dragon fly even in the faster shutter speed photos on Flickr doesn't look like image stabilization problems it looks like noise reduction or jpeg processing softness.

Yes I know, I wasn't referring to that particular one. Yes this looks like processing, and/or maybe the lens, while very good overall, maybe it's not at its best under this scenario?

I read the review thru google translate and it was very positive, concluding that the RX10 is a better choice for travel than an APS-C DSLR with 18-135 kit lens.

How do you know that? I've had Canon and Sony versions, they were ok, mostly good in the center, weak in the corners. But Nikon 18-140 is absolutely superb, I doubt RX10 will be on the same level, with that small sensor it would require a lens to reach 150lp/mm in the center wide open to match the Nikon. I frankly doubt it will be able to match Canon and Sony, those are not that far behind Nikon. Apart from resolution there all other aberrations will be much tougher to control on a small sensor, I see serious CA problems on some shots, some weird ghosting on night shots. In any case, it makes sense to wait for formal testing results before making conclusions.

Here try this. This is the first time I have seen smugmug act this slow. Strange. This is the same photo on Flickr Taken with a Canon t1i and 200mm The second was taken with GX-1 at 20mm LOL! He was a very patient Dragon fly. They like to hang around and pose when they get comfortable with you!

Some of the best samples I have seen so far. They really bring out the potential of this camera. Nice to see shots in good light, and closeup images.

Very interesting. I think this should put things into some perspective. Your shots are clearly better. I hope this is just the RX100's jpeg engine and not the lens losing under such conditions. If only we had the RAW of this shot..
