This one caught me off guard every flash I have fits snuggly on the flash shoe except my Godox v480. And what's crazy is it is my favorite flash as it is good everywhere and has a modeling light that helps for video.

If you look at the mounts below the tt350 screws to lock into place, the it30pro actually snaps into place, I wish all the flash mounts were this solid. The v480 has a twist to lock that doesn't reach all the way down to the RF. While the contacts work and you can take shots even ttl. It can be easily slid out even when "locked" in place.

Anytate if I don't find a solution it is going back again. The first one I ordered had the same issue.

if any one has any thoughts let me know....

You do twist the locking mechanism all the way, past the tight spot (where it actually lock, not just tighten)?

Are you referring to the v480? That feels like it will break the locking mechanism.

Yes :)
I'll check my 860III and X-Pro II when I get home (same mechanism).

Using older wired sync flash with a digital camera.

Two problems here. What device needs to be in the flash shoe of the digital camera that allows a wire flash sync lead to be plugged in. Does such a device even exist?

Second problem when digital cameras fire the flash 3 times: once to measure exposure, second for red eye reduction and third to take the actual picture. This can't be altered in the camera's settings. When a photocell is used to fire the flash, the capacitor is empty before the actual picture is taken. Only work-around is either using "open flash" on a quarter second exposure or setting flash power so low it can fire 3X on a single capacitor charge.

Please don't anyone write "get a new flash suitable for a digital camera". There's a good reason for asking this question, but this comment's already too long!

Several remotes has a 3.5mm sync port, ie Godox X2T and Godox XPRO/XPROII (beneath the USB-C socket)

There's no TTL when fired over a 3.5mm sync cord (PC), is there?

Search for hot shoe to PC adapter.

My v480 does have some wiggle compared to a v860III but it does not slide out while locked like you reported. This said, it is a new flash with no wear or tear on it. I have only used the flash shoe on my GFX100RF to play around with the X3F trigger when I first got the trigger in.

Edited to add: i am experiencing the same amount of play on my new Fuji X-E5

I have to play with it a bit but it will stay in, if I slide it around a bit.

Not sure what is up with these flash mounts, I thought it was an industry standard.

Many thanks for your suggestions for flash photography. Fujifilm GFX 100RF OM seems to say there are flash settings to turn off red eye. My previous post omitted to say my slave flash can be triggered from a photocell, by Sony's camera mounted flash. Unfortunately, as this flashes 3 times, the slave runs out of capacitor charge.

It's not a deal breaker buying a Fujifilm GFX 100RF, though it's a lot of money. My Sony NEX 5 cannot do a single flash, which rules out certain photography situations.
