I ordered the camera from B&H's website on Saturday and just got an
email with the tracking number. It is shipped out already. Now, I
am just hoping that the camera arrives defect-free and with no
pixel problems, which I have been reading about in this forum! To
tell you the truth, I am getting a little nervous!!

I ordered a G2 from B&H today. It is being shipped overnight so I
will let you know how it is on Thiursday. BTW. I am using the AMEX
(Gold Card) and their Value Purchase Plan to reduce the price to
$589.

HEY Congrats too on getting the G2... wow seems like theres SEVERAL of us who ordered from B & H on saturday night... I checked FedEx tracking too and it also left Memphis at 5p.m. and should be here tomorrow by 4:30p.m. I also am from So California! COOL COOL

As far as your CF dilemma, I don't really have any experience
ordering this so I can't really say. But, I would love to hear what
you finally do buy and where because I am sure to follow suit
sooner rather than later!

I guess it was the inventory problem.

Question: Should I wait and take a chance until December for the
Kingston? I see that there is a Mr. Flash deal. Any suggestions
or better offers?

Saturday? (That's when I ordered mine.) I am expecting mine
tomorrow - was hoping for today, but perhaps mine had to go a
longer distance (NYC to Southern California). I went to the Fedex
website and tracked it - it left the sorting station in Memphis a
few hours ago! I hope the rest of the way is by air or else it will
take a LOT longer to arrive than I expected! (After all, it took
two whole days just to get from New York to Memphis!)

Hahaah ya... they said the deadline was 2:00 EST but I ordered it at 3:00EST 12:00PST and i still got that price.. and even how if u have them e-mail you the price its still $730... hasnt gone up yet... =)

Dell, however, is another story. They still have not shipped my
Kingston 256 CF - ordered the same day as the G2. Today it shows
out of stock on the their site. I hope my delayed order is due to
Dell's slow and incompetent customer service vs. poor inventory
management/web based product counter. Where did Dell get that
"Award Winning Service" from anyway? Anybody else have delays with
Dell?

I ordered the Kingston 256 CF on 11/21, at which time it was listed as in stock. On 11/22 they said it was backordered. Yesterday (11/27) I received a shipping confirmation email. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the card this afternoon.

Hopefully your card won't be far behind mine. Of course, you'll get your G2 before I get mine. I'm still waiting for my Amex Blue card to arrive

Amex will match the lowest price you can find in print against the price you paid for an item upto $250. In my case the camera from B&H cost 729. I found it with another company for $582. AMEX will reimbusre me the difference.

Actually, you sound as enthusiastic as one of my customers,
who says this camera is the most fun he has had in his 25 year
photographic career.

He is a Photo Editor / Photojournalist for one of the 2 dailies in
the city where I live.

So Leezah, and this going to sound redundant, have fun with your
G2.

Cancelled it yesterday and ordered another one from buy.com
$128.95-$10off100 coupon and free shipping, not bad.

Follow up - G2 arrived : ) B&H is great!

I raised "serious concern" with Dell's customer care via email and phone and behold...my order was fulfilled today! (A CC rep seriously misinformed me about the order status) .... stay tuned.

Also, I have ordered dvd's from buy.com when the deals are extremly good - but they are located within a few mile of me - thus taxes and shipping are hard to swallow via the internet when local.
