Don't shoot the messenger, lol. Back when I had the 7D and it was sent in for the FFB shutter and was serviced. Never had another issue with it. Question is does anyone know or have a link to show if there was a range of serial numbers affected? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It was all of them.

Paul, thanks for the reply. Do you know if the replacement shutter was problem free? After the replacement i never had another problem with mine and I had it from when it first came out till the Sony A100.

Some of the cameras that were repaired early on certainly have the fault reoccur and had to go back for another repair .

Later repairs seemed more reliable.

Do a search on this forum from around 15-20 years ago .

Lots of threads about this .

Here and on Dyxum .

I bought my used Dynax 7d around 2007/8 after I'd got a Sony a100 and had no problems for years , no idea on it's history before I bought it .

It's only recently shown FFB if it's not been used for a while . Regular use does seem to prevent it .

Initially they simply replaced with the same shutter mechanism so those could fail again. They did eventually come out with a revised part that fixed the issue but that was after production stopped. At one point I had the information on what the modification was. I’ll see if I can find it. It was a long time ago though…
