According to CNN, in 2015, there might have been 6.5 billion cat pictures uploaded to the Internet. They didn't specify if this was unique cat photos, and they actually projected this number from earlier data in 2010. If we did the same extrapolation there may be 24 billion cat photos on the Internet right now. So that begs the question, do we ever need to upload another cat photo? Maybe the best thing would be to curate the cat photos that are already online, surely we have covered all our cat bases by now?

Yes. A harmless and non combative way people interact. Like a baby photo in portraits. Who dares say too many baby pictures? Who?

We are human. We love our pets. As we love our kids - at least when small. Now as to big cats like leopards why do NG photogs roam the veldt to shoot their cubs...because we LOVE these felines.

Love them. They be mammals but just different enough from us once competitive savannah dwelling. primates to be fascinated.

Since people show no signs of stopping uploading photos of their kids, duck-faced selfies and food pics from restaurants either, more cat pics have my blessing.

(since our cat succumbed to cancer fairly soon after her 18th birthday last year I'm not contributing personally for a while now though)

There will be an endless supply of new cat photos. They don't move, they have lots of fur, and most importantly, they simply don't care if you hold a little rectangle thingy in front of them.

How amazing you happened to post this exactly now!

I just told my wife maybe I need to post cat and puppy photos on FB to get more likes, and that I could probably just search Google images to find some cute and funny photos.

Whenever one posts something serious, or something with a hint of seriousness people, don't respond like they do to cat photos. Everything is supposed to be shiny, happy people with the biggest grin on the face possible. And of course the usual deepeties.

Im really tiring of it.

Anyways, your post is one of the best ones I've read for some time! 😀

This is too funny. I guess people, and many friends, are going to continue uploading their cat photos and I guess we can't stop them. What drives me nuts is when they make their way into the challenges here.

If you dont upload a cat picture here every time you get a new camera body, lens, flash, filter, strap, etc, you're doing it wrong.

I'm a brick wall kind of guy myself. I DO love me some brick walls!

The big manufacturers haven't figured out that what we need is a 45MP Cat Camera.

High quality qualitätswein cat photos with a lot of amazing bouquet are few and far between. Here is a great one. I call this "Through the Looking Grass"

Cats photos are certainly better than parroting elderly platitudes and hackneyed clichéd tropes over gear purchases.

-Birds in Flight.

-Cats in Repose.

-Takes all kinds to ease all woes.

Philosophically I think maybe that -

-If one says stop doing something. Eg to your cuted toddler, guess what.

Freedom of expression.! Now the idea of regurgitating from the archives here re old queries on same old same old subjects is not a bad idea -see the OP suggestion re that.

.Like what? Few if any do wearisom searches on the Question of let us say How Do I handle outdoor flash ..

( When one opens with I am not sure where to pose this question, that to me, is a big flag they aint done much homework and will not ...

Stale if I may use that adjective goes beyond cats. Cats are warm. Lovely eyes. Fearless.

I'm a dog person, but on Twitter there is a weekly #Caterday. It's unstoppable. :-)

...there is currently a challenge winner of an out-of-focus and over-exposed cat here on DRP, I'd say that until we can judge internal submissions better, we should continue to look at all of them...

Who knows?
