Changing Z8 bank settings does not update FPS setting I specified

I have two shooting banks on my Z8. Bank A uses AF-S with 2fps in low-speed mode. My Bank B uses AF-C with 10fps. The issue is if I’m in bank B and switch to A, it retains the FPS of 10 where I thought it would change to 2, like I set it for Bank A. All the other bank settings I created are what I set, just not the frame per second setting. Is this normal? If so, I can’t fathom how/why Nikon would do/let this happen. Every time I switch between banks I have to then change the FPS to what it should be. I photographed the Boston Marathon this week and I lost quite a few shots because of this.

You're not the first to be confused, banks are not intuitive. There are two sets of banks, Shooting (ABCD) resolution/iso/etc. and Custom Settings (ABCD) which are the a##-g## settings. Release mode is stored within Custom Settings. Many of us would like to see them to be associated/tied together.

TIP/Reminder: Banks are different than modes, if you change to a bank, change a setting, that setting then becomes that bank's setting "sticky." Where modes are saved and reset to the saved setting when changed or the camera is turned off/on. You may want to give up a bank, and copy the setting you want "saved" to it instead of changing to a bank.

The better option for switching between several settings is the Recall Settings feature, which there is only one of, and it can be assigned to a button. I would gladly give up banks, user modes, and the "i" menu for 6-12 recall settings options, but here we are. :)

Shoot as much as you can before the event to get used to the new rig. Good luck!
