Capture Integration on Hasselblad and Fuji

Yes, at least in Australia.
Once again, so that no one is confused or misinformed...
No one is confused or misinformed about this...
You appear to be.
Not in the least. if you had stopped sermonizing and paid attention I was talking about buying in Australia. I made the text bold in case you miss it again.
"D1 Store is Australia's Official DJI Authorised Retail Store (First & Only) and was established in 2017 to be the forefront of all DJI products and services in Australia."
Yes. There are hundreds of "DJI Authorized Retail Stores". They have a direct relationship established with DJI instead of buying thru a distributor.

You can apply to open one yourself if you'd like. Your invitation is linked below.
I tried to get an application for opening a store in Australia but sadly there was no link for that part of the world.

"DJI authorized retail stores are co-established by DJI and dealers to sell DJI products and provide product training, after-sales repairs, technical support, and other services. They also offer a platform for users to interact with DJI. Since 2016, over 400 DJI authorized retail stores have opened all over the world to wide-spread acclaim."

I feel more comfortable to buy a drone that's owned by a known camera company then buying an expensive camera from a drone company.
You should buy whatever suits you best. It's what we all do as individuals.

By the way, although well known for their drone systems, DJI also produces a variety of other products including: gimbals, action cameras, compact gimbal cameras, wireless mic systems, and full frame pro cine cameras. They seem to be pretty successful in a lot of areas.
I am sorry but thats what you will be doing if buying Hasselblad cameras in Australia.
Still not true.
Seems like Hasselblad is avoiding competition...
It's the internet age. Nothing is avoidable, including competition.
Thats very good advice that could go as a quote in a business 101 class textbook. Sadly it means nothing in the context of this thread. :-D

But again, if you had stopped sermonizing and read where my comment came from you would understand (or would you?). Again I am quoting the article for you...

"Being the only 'real' cameras in store may bring Hasselblad cameras to the front and centre instead of being surrounded by other brands and competing photographic products."

https://www.capturemag.com.au/news/...f distribution,DJI retail business – D1 Store.
...and wants to be seen as the only real camera in a drone store.
Really? Hasselblad cameras can be seen in many places both online and in the real world.
Again, out of context dear friend...Please look for evidence at the crime scene and not under the street lamp just because there is more light there.

Sorry, you are barking up the wrong tree. You might want to bark up the tree where the news article came from. :-D

You're still confused and misinforming others. There are a number of different sources for "buying in Australia".

You didn't bother to look at the application forms. They're not specific to any particular geography. You fill in your VAT or tax number and the geographic location for which you're applying.

Naturally, they may have all they need in one geographic territory and not enough in another. So, don't give up.

"DJI is currently accepting authorized retail store applications globally."

It's misinformation and your extraneous commentary which edits and twists the context to suit your purpose, not an article, to which I've directed my replies.

The article didn't say "Seems like Hasselblad is avoiding competition" — you did.

The article implied that they were looking to expand the range of places where Hasselblad could be seen to include additional outlets beyond the traditional ones — unlike your cropped quote and comments. Here's the full paragraph from the article, including the beginning which you haven't quoted:

"As there are currently seven retail D1 Store outlets (with more on the way), DJI may be looking to appeal to a wider audience directly through these stores instead of Hasselblad being seen only in a very small number of specialty photography stores. Being the only 'real' cameras in store may bring Hasselblad cameras to the front and centre instead of being surrounded by other brands and competing photographic products."

You've repeatedly quoted only the last sentence to better suit your comments and narrative of "Seems like Hasselblad is avoiding competition" which is obviously something which cannot be avoided. Do you really believe that specialty brand stores exist for the purpose of avoiding competition or is it just when Hasselblad is being showcased?

I'm always happy leaving it to individuals to decide whether information is being presented accurately and whether the context is being fairly represented to them.
Please continue 😁
Nah, I'm bored with the topic of Australian distribution and resellers. I suspect even some in Australia are too.

Them too.

So much internet broadcasting misinformation, so little time.
"D1 Store is Australia's Official DJI Authorised Retail Store (First & Only) and was established in 2017 to be the forefront of all DJI products and services in Australia."

The word “Official” seems significant in this description - it doesn’t seem that just anyone could apply for this designation.

No more stores in USA and Europe.
That's not true. There are obviously stores carrying Hasselblad in the USA and Europe and elsewhere around the globe. The only "dealers" they list on their website are those with a direct reseller relationship. Other dealers are authorized to purchase thru a distributor.
Hasselblad Brand Stores

This same part of the site used to have the US and Europe stores. No more.
That is the list of Hasselblad brand stores. There has never been such a store in the USA.

This is the list of dealers in the USA: https://www.hasselblad.com/dealers/ (set region accordingly).

Interestingly, Capture Integration is not on the list. That may be the cause of their supply problems.
There was one in New York, and one somewhere in Europe (don't remember).

This is a good point - there can be tensions between suppliers and sellers.

The newest of those stores just opened a few months ago in Europe in Birmingham, UK.

https://www.theretailbulletin.com/Birmingham welcomes Europe’s first DJI | Hasselblad experience store
Is this a company-owned store?

Good point! Its hard to find any ounce of truth among incessant chatter and misinformation.

Thanks for setting the record straight. 🙂

There has not been a Hasselblad brand store in New York or elsewhere in the U.S. or in Europe, but I think I know what it is you're referencing. In early 2018, they opened a studio/event space in New York City, called Hasselblad Experience Studio, but it wasn't a store and they didn't sell anything there.

It was an appointment only studio demo space inside DJI's NYC office. That space was closed in June 2020 due to the pandemic and never reopened.

There were plans announced in June 2017 for a Hasselblad brand store inside the Fotografiska photography museum in Stockholm, but that plan never materialized.

In 2013, the first Hasselblad brand store was opened in Tokyo by previous owner Ventizz Capital. After a decade of operation, it closed this year.

DJI has opened several co-branded DJI | Hasselblad stores in Mainland China and in Hong Kong and Bangkok. The newest DJI | Hasselblad store recently opened in the UK.

That's the entire history of Hasselblad branded stores or demo locations over the past decade of which I'm aware.

D1's "About" page says:

D1 Store is proudly Australian Owned and Operated with stores located nationwide.
