Hey, just wandering if could help me get some images off a memory card - or else let me know if I should abandon all hope. I took some pictures with a Nikon Coolpix 5000 which used a 1GB Compact Flash card made by PNY Technologies. I didn't have time to take the photos off, so I left the camera in a lab I work in: there is a high chance that other people used it after me. When I came in the next day I was unable to get the computer to access the files, and I tried many things - hooking up a USB to the camera, using a flash card reader, switching computers - nothing worked.
When I open the card, there is the DCIM folder, which usually contains the photos, and a file titled BOOTEX.LOG. If I try to open DCIM an error message pops up: "G:\DCIM no accessible. The directory name is invalid". BOOTEX.LOG contains the following lovely notice:
