Decided to start a family and small event photography business as a part time venture a few months ago when I jumped into the Fuji system. Mostly to help pay for my hobby. I’ve been into photography as a hobby since before digital even existed. I have been making due with the 18-55 and the 55-200 on my X-T2, using off camera speedlights whenever necessary. I have been mostly pleased with these lenses on the Fuji system they render very nice images. I love shooting with primes so I just got the 56 f1.2 as my first Fuji prime. Holy crap this is one nice lens. The focus is a little bit slower than the 18-55 and it makes a little noise but seems to be very accurate. I used it this morning on a photo shoot I had with a family. It was on my camera for probably 85% of the shots. I did switch to the 18-55 for a few wider shots at around 23mm. I am not sure what it is about this lens but the best shots with it are just amazing. Many of them are between f2.8 and f4 which is similar to the kit lens. I had to stop down to get multiple people in focus. Yes the images are plenty sharp but there is something more that I cannot quite put into words. Clearly Fuji engineers know what they are doing and if you are going to do portraits regularly then you should buy this lens now! Oh and I see a 23 f1.4 in my future too.
