Yoshida adapter--easy to order

Hi all,

Last night I ordered Yoshida's adapter for the Tcon17, and with the exception of a pause to lol at the email translations, it was effortless. I got an immediate answer from him to every question I asked--I'll let you know how long it takes to arrive.

He is now using PayPal, which has a dropdown list for choosing currency--so you can pay in yen. I was surprised--had never noticed before.

His website has pictures of the manufacturing process. No wonder Carlos had a hard time!

Re: Yoshida adapter--easy to order

If any one else in USA is going to order from Yoshida in the future---

I'm not very savvy when it comes to computers and I don't do paypal, so I would be willing to pay the shipping from Yoshida (along with the costs on this side of the pond), if you would order one for me along with your order.
thanks.

I've been watching that for a while and was hoping someone in the states would manufacture one here. How much is it going to cost you shipping and all? Thanks in advance....

Re: Yoshida adapter--easy to order

Darn - I wish he'd started using PayPal early - would have saved me $40 for a wire transfer!

I ordered both the 1055B and 155B adapters (55mm adapters for the FZ10 and the FZ1). (Saved a little on postage by ordering them together.)

After a few very interesting e-mails back and forth (Mr. Yoshida speaks no English and I speak no Japanese, so he runs the e-mail through a translating program - you can follow the gist of the conversation, but it's not very good translation), I wired him the money on Monday Dec. 22 from my bank. He confirmed receipt of the wire transfer and mailed the adapters on Dec. 24. I received them in the mail today Dec. 29.

Hey Steve, what's the adapter like? Are you planning to leave it on at all times? Can you put a filter on the end? I'm very curious. Any pix yet? We might do as comparison with Carlos' pix.

The translations are hilarious. Sorry you missed the PayPal.

Re: Yoshida adapter--easy to order

I am glad I too was able to use PayPal to grab an adapter once Carlo's venture fell through. It took me less than 15 minutes to complete the transactions and my package is already in transit to sunny Perth, Western Australia. Next job is working out how to best use it!!!

10kzOOm, you might want to sign up with PayPal. It's a simple thing to do, and well worth it if you have a habit of buying photo equipment. I've been using it for 5 years and find it very valuable.

For what it's worth, two weeks ago, I encouraged Mr. Yoshida to accept PayPal. He had never heard of it, so I send him a 500 yen payment as a test. It took many amusing back and forth emails to get it done, but that was the challenge. My adapter was shipped yesterday.

I'd like to thank Soaks, his was the forum message that first alerted me to it.

Happy New Year to all!

Carlos' lens adaptor project?

I had expressed interest in Carlos' project. I'm gathering from the comments here that it fell thru. Is that definite, I don't want to jump ship if he's still moving ahead.

Thanks

Last I heard, Carlos was taking orders. I hated to do it, but I jumped ship so I could get it faster (Carlos' adapter will take a few weeks) and I have both an FZ10 and FZ1 - I wanted adapters for both. Carlos' adapter will be for the FZ10.
