Sigma Photo Pro 2.0 installation Problems OS 10.2.8

I am having difficulty running both the Sigma Photo Pro Software installer and firmware update after downloading update from the WEB. I am able to download he software and uncompress the installer to my disk drive. When I double-click the installer, nothing happens. I experience the same issue with the Sigma Photo Pro 1.1 installer that is downloaded from the WEB. I DO NOT experience this problem with the installer on the CD-ROM that came with my SD9.

I have tried everything, including: close all open applications, restart computer, check file permissions, etc.

Computer: iMAC 1.25Ghz, 768MB RAM
Operating System: Mac OS 10.2.8

Camera: SD9

Has anyone had similar problems w/ macintosh installation programs that have been downloaded from Sigma?

Try uninstalling PhotoPro 1.1 before you install 2.0

Also, you may need to delete the Preferences file from a previous installation. Just do a search for "Sigma" on your hard drive, and remove any Sigma Preference files found in your Library folders (preferences files usually end in ".plist"). After that, you shouldn't have any trouble installing any version of SPP.

If "nothing happens" when you double click, it sounds like the mac doesn't think that the file you decompressed is an application. Perhaps your Stuffit version didn't set the right bits or something?

OS 10.2.8 installer details

I just checked my 10.2.8 machine, downloaded the .app.sit again, unstuffed it, and got a "package" with camera/arrow icon, occupying 26.7 MB on disk. If you got that far, try control-click Show Package Contents, and verify that you have an app alias and a contents folder containing a MacOS folder containing Install SIGMA PhotoPro. There's also a Mac OS 9 version in there some place.

Did you get that much OK? And double-clicking the app package does nothing? Mine launches, run, and installs just fine (un-installs first time). I can un-install and re-install 2.0 at will, though the first time it didn't un-install 1.1 completely and wanted to keep trying to uninstall. Got over that by finding and deleting a "SIGMA" folder some place.

Re: OS 10.2.8 installer details

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've removed all remnants of SPP 1.1, including the preference files. I've followed the instructions below; everything seems to check out fine. Problem is, when I click on the installer, the computer appears to "begin" to open a window, then does nothing.

Perhaps one of you would be kind enough to post a "stuffed" application and preferencce folder on an ftp site.

Regards,

-Emil

It might be a little obvious and please don't be offended, but are you sure that you have downloaded the correct version.

Good question; I've downloaded the Macintosh version. I also have an (Intel) laptop that I've downloaded the windows version on. That installer works fine.
