Hello all,

I shoot OM System and Panasonic full frame and need to do some shots with a camera mounted flash -specifically posed senior portraits. I am looking at the Godox TT350O Mini Thinklite TTL Flash for Olympus/Panasonic Cameras for $84 and looking for some advice.

Has anyone used this particular flash? What do they think of it?

Is there an inexpensive flash that you have used that you would recommend?

Also, I would like to use the same flash on my full frame Panasonic S1R, if possible.

Note that I do have the tiny Olympus FL-LM3 that came with my OM-1 Mark II, but want something a bit more powerful. Though I might use this flash and buy a cheaper unit as a slave.

Thank you!

I use it very often and like it a lot.

But if I was to buy one again I would buy the V350 which is basically the same, but comes with a powerful rechargable battery unit.

It's my standard small flash for whatever brand of camera I'm using, assuming it has a hot-shoe. The good news is that Panasonic FF cameras use the same flash fitting as µ43 so the TT350 will work with your S1R.

This flash tends to be the go to flash for mirrorless camera users who want to keep their kit small. I'm not aware of any other cheaper/better TTL flash flash than the TT350. I own this flash and it works well and has proved to be reliable so I can recommend it. It uses only 2 AA rechargeable batteries owing to it's small size, so recycling time may not be as fast as the higher priced Godox flashes that use 4AA batteries or a dedicated lithium battery; and battery life will likely be shorter. Flash compensation is quick and easy to control on the flash itself. Godox specs show that it's compatible with FEL (flash exposure lock) but I'm not aware that your cameras have that feature. The TT350 is also bundled with a moulded plastic bounce diffuser.

I'll second that.
I'll Micro Four Third that, I have the V350 and it's a great Flash, recommended for sure

I have two of these. Nice and feature rich flashes overall, but due to being powered just by two AAs can be quite slow to recharge in some situations.

I would consider bigger Godox models like TT685. Also the LiIon accu powered V350 might be worth looking at.

Shouldn't be an issue - L mount Lumixes use same flash system as m43.

Getting in Godox system would open you much better potential for wireless control. It's incompatible with Lumix/Olympus native optical control, but uses it's own and very capable rf control protocol. But you would need at least two flashes or a flash and on-camera controller for a start.
Thank you!

I've had several of these (and Sony versions, too) for years and love 'em. I've also got a bunch of larger Godox/Flashpoint speedlights and monolights, and they all work seamlessly together.

Nothing I've read about even comes close. In the U.S., Adorama sells this flash under its Flashpoint brand as the Zoom-Mini TTL R2 with U.S. warranty and technical support. I buy all my Godox gear from Adorama.

Any Godox flash or transceiver made for Olympus/Panasonic should work properly on any Olympus or Panasonic camera body.

I have li-ion battery versions of the larger units, but for the TT350 AA Ni-Mh works fine for me. This is because I use this little flash at close range and generally at very low power, as I balance it with low ambient light. As a result, recycle is nearly instant, and a pair of AAs gets me hundreds of pops.

I agree with the others. I have the TT350o and it works great as a small on camera flash. I use eneloop NiMH rechargeable AA batteries and they last quite a long time.

Thank you everyone! I ordered the flash and should have it in hand for Easter. I'll reply back after I've figured out using it and let everyone know how it goes.

Agreed. The TT350O Mini is a great flash but if buying again I'd get the one with rechargeable lithium....would be more useful in flash bracketing because of recycle times.

Forgot to mention the little flash that comes with your camera will trigger the TT350O Mini but I think it is line of sight only....still useful for some applications.

I am another happy user but pls look for " O " model which stands for Olympus or M43.

TTL, High speed syn, 2nd curtain syn, 2AA batteries can run for a few hundreds of pictures (little slow recharging), small and lightweight, support optical slave on off camera basis, low cost...

Please watch out for the possible engineering issue: the hot shoe might not stand 100% probably on certain M43 camera making it not connected. Might require micro adjustment on the sitting position.

I'm grateful for this thread! Was learning flash photography this weekend- picked up the Peterson's Flash Photography book and almost done with it. Was looking at this unit, along with some others, and was looking at getting this cool flash trigger when it's released to use the flash unit off-camera:

I prefer the X2-T, as it has a pass-thru hot shoe that allows mounting a flash on top of it.

Also, anyone starting out can learn a lot about using flash at https://strobist.blogspot.com/.

There are also reports that the V350O is more reliable than the TT350O when used for 'focus stacking'.

Insomuch as it does not 'miss' shots.

I have had experience of this myself.

Yes the V350 is the better option and it comes with a rechargeable Lithium Battery so it's a no brainer, love mine and works great with focus stacking etc, much better option for Macro.
