Harman Phoenix Film

From sone of the examples I’ve seen it looks interesting, I’ve bought a few rolls so I’ll see what it makes of the grey U.K. in winter (rather than warm California :-) )

It doesn't seem to be avilable in Australia 😟

If anyone knows where it's available, let me know.

It may be that the Oz market might be too small for an experimental film

Just watched the video below. He uses the Filmomat SmartConvert software ( https://www.filmomat.eu/smartconvert ) and the colours come out pretty normal, not “funky” like of some of the other YouTube videos I’ve seen (obvs there’s still halation and not much dynamic range)

It looks like standard lab. scanning can't handle the purple base.

I saw one YTuber cross possess Phoenix 200 in e6 and after some colour correction, turned out quite nice and with significantly more detail than the c41 processed roll.

Thanks.

In another vein, hard to believe how less expensive a 120 roll of Kentmere 100 is compared to FP4?

It’s about 20% less in the UK. I’ve heard before it’s because there’s less silver in Kentmere, but I don’t know how true that is

Thanks for making me aware of this software. I'm using VueScan with a V600 but wondering if I could get better results in less time. I'll download the free demo. I've been reading that Silverfast on Mac is buggy / unstable so haven't bothered.

I normally use SilverFast on a PC but I do regularly have some film formats that I need to do using a digital camera (110 and 126). After doing some tests I ended up purchasing a copy of the FilmoMat software because I really like the inversions it does. I’ve tried it with C41 films and also Vision3 developed in ECN2 and it’s works well for each. Obviously there’s some interface issues (it would be nice to be able to fix the aspect ratio of the auto crop for example), but I like the actual conversion
