Do you think Amazon cares?  They don’t.

Thank you DPR team for your great and professional work over all the years. Will miss you!

Please let me know what retailer you end up directing your prior Amazon business to. I want to buy stock in that company since you’re about to drastically increase their sales. Thanks in advance!

LOL! 😁

Not that Amazon cares, but I'll buy no more photography stuff from Amazon. And, Yes, thank you DPR team and all the posters too. I learned much.

Peace.

John

Maybe they will buy a few more shares in Facebook instead?

But maybe being able to demonstrate our annoyance at this quite commercial decision makes for feel-better.

Myself I have no dealings with Amazon and they would consider my protest as 'no loss'.

I'm shocked, Tom! You mean you wouldn't go to an Amazon doctor!?

Edit:  Would anyone here want to go to an Amazon doctor!?  It's a joke you know!

https://clinic.amazon.com

Hey, just kidding!!!

For some some things Amazon is fine. I get my third party vendor stuff through Amazon that otherwise is not available in the USA. One product I have been buying for a few years is only available through Amazon from an entrepreneur in New Zealand. So, it's not all bad.

I do try to avoid spending too much money at "Whole Paycheck" the grocery store formerly known as "Whole Foods". Purchase by Amazon a few years ago. But, you know the goal of Amazon is manifest destiny. Control of the entire planet!!!

Re: Well its worth a shrug

I don't second the idea that, in any case, our protest is not important. I am an Amazon customer since many years and sure it is u likely I will stop buying from Amazon just because they drop Dpreview, but if for a reason we are not happy about the way we are treated we must show. An unhappy client is contagious if you don't fix it..

Instead you should be grateful that Amazon did let you use dpreview for free, since the day you joined in 2012.

Ads are run on the site. Unless your running ad block, it's not free.

How much have you had to pay to read DPReview?

It was a 100% free service to you. I bet you even had an ad-blocker installed to deprive Amazon from any advertising benefit. And now you are biting the hand that did feed you.

Thank you DPR team for your great and professional work over all the years. Will miss you!

I see. Amazon should lose money providing free services to cheapskates. They won't miss you.

I've only known one former Amazon employee; he said it was the worst job he ever had. But that's just one person's experience, happy employees are free to chime in here

Re: Well its worth a shrug

Corporate life is full of pressure to produce in most public companies. Shareholders demand quarterly profits from executives who lose their jobs if they don't deliver profits. AMZN isn't doing well. The pressure flows downhill and affects everybody, especially the 27,000 people AMZN is laying off and all the vendors and their employees who depend on them for their business. Everybody has to work harder. No fee lunch.

I don't know what to tell you if you only value your life in terms of money.

Having the ads for things I have no interest in pop up or slowly load displacing the site UI doesnt make using this site very enjoyable. The only reason i kept coming back was because of the information shared by other system users.

I pay by seeing ads. Amazon didn't own dpreview just for fun.
