what other forums for film related discussions when DPR folds

The news of DPReview’s demise is a shock but in some ways not entirely unexpected as the standard of written reviews has been tailing off for some while.

But the forums contain an immense amount of knowledge and the interaction has been extremely useful.

Not just, of course, for digital but also here for film cameras.
So where will you likely end up and what forums might you go to?

It would be a shame to lose touch.
Dave

For analog, photrio.com is worth a look. Arguably better and much more content for analog process, LF, etc.

...still will miss this tho...

Agreed, Photrio seems the obvious place (for film photography at least)

Rangefinder forum, photrio and the film-sub at Pentax forums are my other go-tos. There’s also a few good film groups on Facebook (and some shockers).

I second RangefinderForum, and there's some good knowledge on PentaxForum. Cameraderie has some film users (myself included).

The push for the last several years has clearly been DPReview TV ——— and it pushed its hosts right over to another sponsor/employer/platform.

This for me has been one of the Top 5 Forums even being one of the newest!

THANKS.

I fled to Photrio when I got tired of the goings-on here (outside of the Film Forum), and it's a great place with a lot of knowledgeable people. (I do wish there was a "generic film photography talk" sort of area, though I've never requested one.) Agreed also that Pentax Forums is great, though obviously a bit Pentax-specific.

I've missed you all since I left and look forward to seeing you on Photrio!

Hello everyone. I used to post under The Davinator here for about 20 years. I admin a Facebook film site called the Film Photographers Union. We’re about 3400 members strong and love having people post questions and samples of their photography. I welcome anyone here to join up.

I am also going to use Photrio much more.

And I do also want to say a HUGE thank you. I would not be having the same level of fun with my analog cameras, if it were not for many of you here.

You will be missed and I hope to find you again somewhere.
