Remote for LUMIX DC-9 not working.

I have a recording studio. I have several D9 cameras for video. Each musician has their own camera focused on them. When we do a take all they have to do is hit the remote and slate the take. But a few of the remotes have stopped working. The photo portion works but not the video. I’m using the one designed for it. I just bought two cheaper replacements that had high ratings on Amazon. Kiwifotos. But they only take pictures, not video. I know this is a terrible vague question but I’m wondering whether sone of the cameras have a different menu setting. I couldn’t find anything.

This needs testing and a process of elimination.

What if you use the "non-working" remotes on the "working" cameras? And vica versa?

Either the remotes or the cameras, or something in between like the connection, could be nonworking.

Re: Remote for LUMIX DC-9 not working.

Would it be the problem of your remote control?

I just tested my remote (a few US$ Yongnuo bought from liquidation sales of a closing down camera shop 15+ years ago originally for my Panasonic superzoom camera) on G85, it did control video as using the shutter release button on the camera.

My cheapy vintage remote shutter which serves me well through various Panasonic cameras over the years.

There is no Menu setting requirement on the camera at all. Simply plug and play.

It could be the remote shutter problem, or the worst the remote port on your camera has been broken.

As you have multiple GH5, might eliminate the remote problem by plug into different camera. If anyone works, then it could be the problem on GH5.

I've tried this.  In some cases it works.  I've tried taking the ones that don't work to other cameras.  Yeah.

If it seems somewhat unpredictable which camera work with which remote, the connection might be a problem - the contact between the camera and the plug.

I went through several of the aftermarket wired remotes years ago, and about 2 out of 3 didn't work or failed after a few uses. I remember that they might work in one body and not the other. It had something to do with how the plug fit.
