Another great series MrKazador! You make it look so easy (and I know it is not...). Do you live close to this Sanctuary?

Thank you jm10. Not so close, about a 50 mile drive one way. It was my first time going and I plan to go back.

Its easy when they're perched on a branch lol. It also helps I took 4500 photos that day so there has to be a few good ones.

In the past I've taken a lot of photos in situations where I needed to do many FPS but that's a lot of images to go through!  Air shows come to mind.  But maybe this is the usual these days.

I do take a lot of photos lol. I worry I will miss the shot if I don't take multiples of the same subject. I'll try different settings or exposures. I use FastStone Viewer to quickly go through them and copy the ones I like.

Superb shots. Makes me wish we’d visited a couple of the places you so nicely captured here during our visit a couple of years ago. Also would have loved to see a puffin or two. No such luck.

Absolutely awesome place and some amazing opportunities for photography. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you kindly Jerry! An awesome place indeed; I already miss it...

First few with new 70-300 (and a 16-55) of the forest.
5

Picked up the 70-300 recently, and quite impressed with its lightness and compact size (although I don't think I've ever had a zoom that extends out so much!). Forgot how tricky snow can to expose and white balance for in the second two shots. The white balance keeps posting slightly different on the last image, despite a few tries.

Nice color Bob! I was reading some opinions that the Superbloom may not happen this year in spite of all the water that came down lately. The seeds may be washed out and there is not enough warm days for sprouting...we shall see...

These are a few shots I pulled from the archive to share. The macro shots were done with an adapted 50mm Olympus lens from the late 70's and the 11mm Fujifilm extension tube.

Love these they have character.

Now that's a subject rarely seen in this forum!  Nice images.  I suppose you did not use subject detection? 😁

Thanks Bob.

The absence of Amphian detection is a major oversight on Fujis part, its a wonder how I was able to get these shots at all, pretty sure it's coming in the next Sony firmware
