XT5 S

Hello everyone,

Do you think there is a chance that fujifilm will release an XT5 version S. i have a XT3 and I find no interest in the 40 megapixels of the XT5 but I would like to have the speed of the XH2S.

What do you think ?

I don't see this happening. Fuji has 3 distinct new bodies. I used the T3 & T4 and I switched to the H2s. I had reservations of going back to the single mode dial. Now that I’m use to it I love the camera. If you shoot sports, wildlife or use video it’s a winner. By far my favorite Fuji camera.

I do actually think there's an offside chance. But not in the near future. And if it does appear, I think it will be more of a "pro" version of the x-t5. Say CFExpress card, h2 series viewfinde, perhaps vertical grip option... But I dont see this happening before Xt5/h2/h2s sales have worn down

I’d love to see it but I don’t think everything from the x-h2s will fit into the X-T5 sized frame.

Making the X-T5 any larger would ruin part of the beauty of the X-T5.

I would love to buy one, but I think there is zero chance of it happening.

More likely would be a new X-T40/X-E5/X-S20 with the updated processor and AF algorithms, but still using the older, non-stacked 26MP sensor.

Little chance IMO since with the S speed you need the buffer of the XH2s and its stacked sensor....so  that :

In other word you are dreaming of a XH2s in the body of a XT5, nice dream but just a dream I'm afraid .....

Hi,

There have been no signals from Fuji suggesting that they would go down that path. If you read the interview of Fuji execs reported in Fuji Rumors at the end of last month, they provide some cautious advice about the directions of the different lines.  One of their comments is that they see no point in duplicating similar camera features.  They also comment that they don't want to release new models without a significant benefit to the users.  Link....

They don't however comment on the XE, XTx0 and X lines.  Read into that what you will.

Maybe we'll all be a bit wiser after the April "Summit" but my money wouldn't be on an XT5S.

Regards, Rod

I don't think you'll get an X-T5s and I do not think you should be afraid of 40mp for any reason. It's simply a few more inches of print size at 300dpi.  If you do not print already, then it simply is a little more storage.

The X-T5 is the new X-T4, aimed more at stills photography, but with good video capability. There are pros and cons with the 40mp sensor. If you want the stacked sensor, the only current option is the X-H2s. That’s the choice.
