What Camera Did Vanity Fair Use For This?

I realize this is more videography, but wondering if anyone had an idea of what camera was used for this, and what the editing technique that was used (ramping up/slowing down effect in one shot. I believe there's one word for it?) Thanks.

Are you refering to Bunyan or Thackeray?

I'll be walking past the location of Bunyan's Vanity Fair in a few minutes.

One term that's often used to describe this effect is "time-remapping", which is fairly easy to do in most editing apps.

Can't quite tell offhand what kind of camera they used, tho it appear to be quite wide-angle. (and honestly not quite flattering of the celebs).  In a few frames there does appear to be a rectangular shadow being cast from the light,  which might possibly indicate some kind of 360 camera such as the Insta360 or similar.  - which are quite fun camera's- that can def create similar video.   Highly recommend the Insta360 X3, loads of fun.

John, it's Thackeray.

Ned, two Reds with Panavision Zoom Lenses were used.

Gary, you don't use an Insta 360 when shooting a period drama series for Amazon Prime.

what on earth are you talking about?

the OP shared a social media clip from a Vanity Fair red carpet event. (https://streamable.com/vn1tqq)
NOT a reference to some kind of period drama show!!
.... and when was the last time a period drama show used time-ramping?  LOL.
you must have confused this post with some other post.

Hi Ned,

It looks like they used one of the Insta360 cameras which produces this sort of image right from the get go. I see them used for social-media shoots quite often. The speed-ramping is handled by the software in post ( I think the Insta360 software has this ability ) and people tend to shoot at a higher frame-rate if slow-motion is important. Check out the Insta360 demos and reviews on YouTube to get an idea of the image this camera produces.
