Looking for Fuji X-E4 - anyone know where?

Hi - I'm based in Canada and have been searching for a black X-E4, ideally with the 27mm but open to without.
I heard rumours that it has been discontinued...does this mean that there will be no new stock at any retailers again? I have alerts on Hotstock but doesn't look like anything has come up for quite some time. I do have an Adorama order in but not hopeful.

Anyone know where to get one or know someone that does have one and is looking to offload?

Thanks!

Re: Looking for Fuji X-E4 - anyone know where?

With the extreme popularity of the FujiFilm X100v camera and the vastly inflated used prices (sometimes way above new retail), consumers have turned to Fuji's ILC alternatives and the X-E4 is a great alternative! The X-E4 doesn't have the leaf shutter, weather resistance or built in ND filter but its ability to accept any of Fujifilm's APS-C lenses makes it much more versatile in supporting various focal lengths. Add in the world wide chip shortage, supply chain issues and high demand and we have a perfect storm that accounts for the present scarcity of this camera. This situation, in turn, cascades into older models such as the X-E3 and X-E2, inflating those prices (to a much lesser degree).

We have seen the same factors affect car sales with reduced inventory of new cars and highly inflated used car prices. Is this the new normal or will prices adjust downward? Only time will tell.

I am also interested in the X-E4 although not a fan of the poor ergonomics and reduced external controls. The ergonomic fix is to purchase a grip and hot shoe thumb rest (adding weight & clutter). I'm considering the X-E3 but might just wait and see if product availability improves.  Meanwhile, I am not optimistic about my chances of getting an X-E4.  Then again, it is not impossible!

Good luck!

Hi,

It seems to be a worldwide problem.  One well known dealership here in Australia posted "No longer available" on their XE4 listing.  (I posted about this recently in this forum.)  Other people suggested that maybe Fuji have diverted resources to other models and we'll see some XE4s again in future.....

I simply don't know where the truth lies, but I'm not putting my name on a purchase list with no date at all for delivery and no idea if there will ever be another one even produced. And I don't want an X100v even if they ramp up production.  Nice enough camera, but I prefer an ILC.

Best of luck, Rod

Re: Looking for Fuji X-E4 - anyone know where?

The X100V and XE4 have to be purchased on back order from a seller. A Fuji rep told me smaller stores surprisingly have shorter waiting periods than major stores like B&H in NYC Or Amazon.

I want an X100V. I will not pay a premium for a new or used body. I am using the gear I have until the VI is announced. I anticipate IBIS and a new sensor. It is time for the announcement of the VI release soon.

I also look on Craigslist once or twice a day. Twice in the past year someone sold their 100v for $900. I was the 2nd responder for both bodies. 1st in line of a long line of looser. The 2nd seller responded to my email and was surprised over a dozen people responded to his ad. Apparently both sellers didn’t know the premium being charged for their gear.

So these are your choices. Place an order at your local brick & motor camera store. Try and purchase a used model used. Wait for the VI announcement. I’ve told you what I’m doing. Good luck with your X100V purchase.

it took me four months to get an x100v from Samy's camera in LA last year.  if you order and wait, you will get one.
