150-600mm from lensrental coming 3 days early!

I’m renting it in preparation for Sebring (12 hours at Sebring- ALMS racing) and while I’ve used canon for years before for motor sports, this will be the first year trying to shoot the race with a brand new platform.   I’ll be using the XT-5, so this will be a good test of whether I made a good choice ditching Canon for my passions.
Canon always served me well, so I hope I get good results with the xt-5.    Below was an old shot I took with a (gasp) ancient 20D and 70-20” 2.8L IS back in 2006-ish.

Nice, I recently purchased the 150-600 and it was delivered yesterday. Hopefully the weather clears up tomorrow so I can go and test it out.

I guess it goes without saying, but adapting to a new system might take a bit of time - not to say cause pure frustration at first, even - until old habits die off and new brain/muscle memory is formed.

That is to say that not only new camera/lens capabilities will be at test here, but your willingness and ability to adapt, too. Some stuff will inevitably be worse (or at least feel like it, even if only at the beginning), where some other should feel (or prove) better still, with the final decision to be made upon all the pros and cons, the results you are capable obtaining, but the feeling during the process, too.

Good luck!
