Brightin Star 60mm Macro Vs Laowa 65mm Macro

The Laowa 65mm lens is recommended on here by many, and is sharp enough for the XH2. In some ways I'm told it's sharper the the Fuji macros. Has anyone used the new Brightin Star Macro? Does it hold up against the Laowa, especially if used on the 40MP sensor? Both lenses have 2:1 magnification, but the Brightin Star is 60 percent cheaper. Any thoughts? I'm intending on using it for copying film, so field flatness and sharpness with good color rendition is important.

Re: Brightin Star 60mm Macro Vs Laowa 65mm Macro

I found a couple videos on these two lenses. First off the Brightin Star is also the Pergear lens. Both lenses are not really that great in comparison to the Laowa lens. I used Christopher Frost's videos to see the rez differences. So in this case, you get what you pay for. I'll skip getting the cheaper lens.

I have not used either, but "Brightin Star" is not a high quality maker from what I've heard, while the Laowa has been described as one of the best macro lenses around. The only reason I didn't get one is because I found I could buy the Fuji 60mm macro used for even less, and I really needed AF for stacking and stalking bees.
