Viltrox adapter issue

I have the Viltrox EF-R2 adapter with the control ring. However the control is not working with any adapted lens. Otherwise, everything else is OK.  Does anyone know if there is a firmware update to correct this?  I don't see anything on the Viltrox site. Thanks in advance.

I just connected my Viltrox Control Ring adapter to my R7, and it doesn't work for me either.  I almost forgot that I had it, because I haven't used it since late 2020 on my R5.

I just went to the Viltrox website, and it seems that they have pulled every reference to this adapter, so Canon must have forced them to discontinue distribution and support.  You're going to have to find someone who has the latest firmware and get it from them (if it even works on the R7; there may be no firmware that works with the R7, unfortunately).

There is a text file inside of the adapter accessible through the USB port, and it has the firmware release date and version in case you want to see what firmware you already have.

I had one and it likewise was useless on the R7. Was lucky enough to get a few $$ for it on eBay and just went with the Canon brand and it works flawlessly.

Contact Viltrox. They might have a firmware update they can send you by email. Other have received firmware updates that way.

Viltrox removed all Canon-related stuff from their website last Summer:
